This residence’s privileged location offers privacy, yet is only 5 minutes away from Vourkari village with its shops, restaurants, supermarket, bars and cafés. Two family friendly beaches, Gialiskari and Otzias, are only 5-10 minutes drive away. The fantastic location of this house makes it a great base for exploring the island. Relax on the inviting outdoor terrace on a warm summer evening or spend hours perusing the library of art books. On arrival, guests receive a welcome hamper of local produce.

Why Kids Love it

The house has plenty of toys, board games and books, mostly in Greek, for kids under 12. A travel cot, high chair, baby monitor, baby bath, stroller and car seat can be provided on request. Snorkelling gear, a beach umbrella and sand toys are also available on request. Around the house, there is plenty of outdoor space where kids can play, and the nearest beach is a 5-minute drive away. There are some hazards - see Things To Know.

About the Location

The residence is set on a hill overlooking the sea, a 3 minute drive from the village of Vourkari, which has a mini market, tavernas and bars. It is approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the nearest beach, Gialiskari beach, and the same from the closest port, Korissia. To reach the property, fly to Athens International Airport, drive/taxi to Lavrio port and take the ferry to Kea (1 hour 10 minutes). The house is a short drive away; car hire is recommended for exploring the island. Parking available.

Accommodation Details

This 2-story house has 2 double bedrooms with queen size beds and a bedroom with full size bunk beds. The ground floor has an open-plan lounge with dining area plus full kitchen and WC, and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, and a small kitchenette. All the bedrooms open to a terrace with sea views and there is a separate entrance for each floor.

Style Notes

The house is beautifully decorated with unique art pieces by Greek artists. All bedrooms are spacious, bright and minimal, with whitewashed stone walls in traditional style plus attractive fabric and furnishings. We love the animal print curtains in the kids room. Walls are hung with original artwork, and bright pops of color enliven the white color scheme. The lounge has an inbuilt sofa with lovely curves.

We like to share our love for Kea with our guests. We are very gland to offer them a truly authentic experience for their holidays, and to show them all the hidden treasures of our island! On arrival we will be at the ferry to welcome them, escort to The Art House, show them around and answer all the questions they may have. A welcome hamper is provided full of local products and homemade sweets. Maybe, we can go sailing together, as my kids love it. Don't forget, Greek Filoxenia is more than just hospitality..!!

Kea, Greek Islands

Tranquility, Athenian-Style

Kea is a small, quiet island in the Cyclades archipelago. Apart from the main foreign tourist circuit, yet popular among savvy Athenian families who know how to escape the crowds, this local sanctuary with its sleepy seaside fishing villages, secluded coves, and ancient ruins just might be the best kept secret in the Greek islands.
