We love to spend summers by the beach in Maine and are happy to share our small cottage with other families and friends looking for an easy laid back getaway.

Kennebunkport, Maine

Seashells, seafood and farm-to-table food

Forty minutes south of Portland, Kennebunkport is one of Maine’s quintessential coastal towns, with a rocky shoreline, fresh seafood and plenty for the kids to do. Collect seashells on the beach or take kayak tours with older children to Porpoise Point. Learn how the locals catch lobsters on a tour up the Kennebunk River or take whale watching or sailing adventures on the ocean. And don’t forget to enjoy essential Maine treats - lobster rolls and farm-to-table meals.

This was our second time staying at Mary’s home and it was such a delight. Mary is the most gracious host and was incredibly communicative throughout our stay. Her home is beautiful and conveniently located and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We are so grateful to Mary for allowing us to stay at her place once again. Thank you, Mary!

All in all a perfect Maine experience at The Goose Rocks Residence! The house is adorable and in such a picturesque setting on the water. Renting kayaks and launching right from the back of the house was really fun and couldn't be easier. We loved being able to walk to Goose Rocks Beach, which was quiet and beautiful with calm waters the kids could safely splash around in. The house is perfectly located for easily exploring various towns and beaches (from Portland to Ogunquit) so we never grew tired of things to see and do. The kids had fun sleeping in the loft and we loved that we could scoot around the corner in one direction for ice cream cones and the other for fresh lobsters and produce. Mary could not be a more accommodating or attentive host and her recommendations were all excellent -- thank you!

WOW! Perfect location, gorgeous setting and the recommendations we got from Mary made the perfect itinerary for our stay! So much we loved about this house — the dock, the huge windows, the kids bedroom up a ladder! We will definitely be back — for the lobster, the ice cream, and especially for this house!!

We ADORED our time at the Goose Rocks Residence! The location and surrounding land are truly magical - watching birds through the huge window, or hearing deer splash through the marsh in the evening... what a dream! Each day we'd kayak right from the back yard straight to the beach and felt like we were in a fairy tale. And Mary was an amazing and responsive host. Can't recommend it more!

The property this house is on is unbelievable! The marsh is thrilling watch all day as the tide comes in and out. Enjoyed how walkable Goose Rocks is, even with kids. Perhaps we'd get bikes the next time around to make it even easier. Loved the lobster shack down the street and the swing hanging from the tree.

Better late than never...we had an absolutely magical week at Mary's amazing marsh-side getaway. The home was teeny tiny perfection--beautifully appointed with everything we could need to enjoy our week in Maine. The kids absolutely LOVED the sleeping loft and the basket swing in the yard. We adults loved the amazing HUGE windows overlooking the marsh as we enjoyed our morning coffee and planned the day's adventures. The back deck was a the perfect spot with a book and glass of wine at the end of the day. The house is well located such that you are at once close to amenities (so many yummy provisions from Cape Porpoise Kitchen and amazing meals at Musette...not to mention the ice cream at Goose Rocks Dairy which was the highlight of our 4 year old's vacation!), and in your own private, secluded retreat! We enjoyed walking down to the beach at Goose Rocks, exploring Kennebunkport, rock scrambling whenever we had a chance, and taking several day trips to Portland, Bowdoin College, and other points north. Mary was a gracious host--she was generous with recommendations and information as we planned, and available and accommodating when we had a few mishaps during our stay! So many wonderful memories made in MAINE HOUSE...our kids are asking when we will go back!
