Set on an off-road drive tucked away from the street, close to Holland Park and Shepherds Bush, this residence has all the hallmarks of an exclusive city retreat combined with plenty of playful design and fun space to gather. The state-of-the-art kitchen-diner seats up to 20 guests for decadent family feasts, connecting to a living room where parents can unwind in style with a snooker table, piano, and a fireplace with bean bags for cozying up on cooler evenings. The primary bedroom is on a floor of its own for additional peace and privacy, with a superkingsize bed, a rolltop bath and direct access to the roof terrace for enjoying a quiet sundowner, or a morning coffee while the kids are occupied elsewhere. For those wishing to explore London’s treasures, the nearest station is just a 10-minute walk away with trains to the chic boutiques and restaurants of Sloane Square, South Kensington’s world-famous museums, and the wider city.
Why Kids Love it
Don’t fancy taking the stairs? Take the slide or the fireman’s pole instead. With playful design at every turn, and plenty of play space inside and out, the kids are bound to have a ball. They have their own playroom filled with toys, games, a TV and banquette seating to transform it into a cinema for movie time, while downstairs there’s more chill out space with a snooker table for the teens and an outdoor pool that will please everyone. For kids in need of a run around before they hit the city sights, there’s a park with a playground and tennis courts just minutes’ walk away, and pretty Holland Park which has an adventure playground and a café favoured by local families a short walk or cycle. Kensington Olympia tube station is within easy reach with direct weekend trains or weekday trains one stop away to whizz kids up to the Natural History, Science and V&A museums of South Kensington and beyond. The host can help arrange for kid-related essentials, as well as local babysitters, on request.

Style Notes
Urban manor. A unique, architect-designed home which is as playful as it is stylish, with quirky curves and plenty of contemporary cutting-edge design. With staircase slides, a fireman’s pole, fun works of art and luxurious finishes throughout, the residence conveys a sense of humour alongside some serious sophistication. There’s exquisite tiling to be seen in every bathroom, as well as the Mediterranean-esque pool, offset by whitewashed walls and a multitude of windows. From circular lookout style to rectangular skylights, they come in all shapes and sizes with the floor to ceiling bifolds downstairs designed to be flung fully open to let the outside in. There’s plenty of coziness for the autumn-winter too with blonde wood floors, beautiful rugs, cushions and textiles, as well as an in-built fireplace surrounded by soft sofas and a giant sink in bean bag. We love the half-moon effect in the upstairs rooms, with their ship style windows, soft slinky curves and decadent roll top baths.

Kensington & Chelsea, London
Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
