Perks for the Parents

A picture-perfect Georgian townhouse in a quiet corner of glamorous Chelsea with elegant charm and a private courtyard. It sleeps 6. This charming home is perfect for parents looking for a taste of the Chelsea lifestyle. You’ll find countless restaurants, delis and coffee shops within walking distance, as well as world-class boutiques and quirky stores on Kings Road. After a busy day of sightseeing, you can return to this elegant home to unwind with drinks in the sunny backyard.

Why Kids Love it

While there are no toys or books for kids here, they’ll enjoy camping out in the raised bunk room! Little ones will enjoy the soft activity play at the National Army Museum or the petting zoo and adventure playground at Battersea Park (both 20 minutes away) while older kids and teens will love the famous museums of South Kensington: the V&A, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Things to Know

No pets, parties or smoking. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. This home is set over 4 floors with steps up to the front door and courtyard patio, so safe to say there's a fair bit of climbing involved. The second bedroom is on the snug side, with 2 single beds, one of which is accessed by a ladder, so we'd say it's best suited to children. You'll find a handy laundry room (not pictured) on the basement floor, equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There's an excellent local pub opposite, which means you can sometimes hear the sound of chatter drifting across the road.

About the Location

This residence is located in the heart of Chelsea in south-west London. You'll be perfectly placed to explore the buzz and boutiques of Fulham Road or Kings Road, along with the myriad museums of South Kensington (20 minutes’ walk). When you need somewhere to unwind after all that shopping and sightseeing, visit the nearby Chelsea Physic Garden or take a stroll along the River Thames (less than 10 minutes away). The nearest subway stations are South Kensington or Fulham Broadway (15 minutes’ walk) and there are countless bus stops nearby. Heathrow airport is half an hour away by car.

Accommodation Details

The property has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. On the raised ground floor, you’ll find an elegant living room with front and back windows. There’s a separate dining room/kitchen with doors out to the patio. Upstairs you’ll find 2 bedrooms: 1 kingsize and 1 children’s room with 2 single beds. The first floor bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower and freestanding bathtub. On the top floor there’s a queensize bedroom plus an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Outside there’s a sun-drenched courtyard festooned with ivy, featuring a picnic table and bench.

Style Notes

Chelsea classic. Simple yet stylish is the motto here, where period interiors are expertly seasoned with a dash of modern design. Feature fireplaces, sash windows, and vintage furniture keep things traditional in the living room and dining area, whilst a smart, modern kitchen and quirky artworks add contemporary shine. We love the eccentric designer wallpaper in the bedroom, the white beams on the top floor and the beautiful fireplace in the living room.

Kensington & Chelsea, London

Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
