Perks for the Parents

Overlooking the immaculate gardens and woodland trails of Holland Park, this compact apartment is ideal for families exploring the city. It sleeps 4. Neat and simple, you’ll find enough space for family breakfasts and a good night’s sleep, but the main draw here is the location: nestled in one of the capital’s most desirable neighborhoods, it’s close to both Notting Hill and Kensington, with the hugely-popular Holland Park at the end of the street.

Why Kids Love it

While this property doesn’t have toys or books for kids, it’s right on the doorstep of beautiful Holland Park, which is perfect for children. It has an adventure playground and zipline, pretty landscaped gardens and it’s also the home of the Design Museum. Hyde Park is 10 minutes by tube, where there are more play areas, an outdoor swimming lake and horseback riding, while the museums of South Kensington are also less than half an hour away by train.

Things to Know

This home doesn't have air-conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period. This entrance to this home is on the second floor with no elevator. This home does not accept pets. The fireplace in this home is ornamental. The communal hallway and stairs leading to the entrance of this home is well-worn. Complimentary Lovevery Play Kit for kids (0-4yrs) during your stay T&C's apply.

About the Location

The home is just 5 minutes’ walk from Holland Park subway station, so it’s easy to get in and out of central London (sights like Buckingham Palace are less than half an hour away), although this part of London has lots of popular neighborhoods to explore: High Street Kensington (a huge shopping district) and Portobello Road street market in Notting Hill are both only 15 minutes away on foot. Heathrow airport is around half an hour by car or 1 hour by train.

Accommodation Details

This open plan apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. The cozy living area has views over Holland Park, together with a compact dining table for 4 and a cleverly integrated kitchen. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed, a desk for home working, and ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed, adjacent to the family bathroom (with a shower; no bathtub).

Style Notes

Sleek simplicity. The hosts have chosen soothing neutral tones to frame the beautiful vibrancy of nature which peeks through the windows, overlooking the park: autumnal leaves and green grass punctuates the sophisticated whites and grays of this apartment. We love the plush velvet loveseat in the living room, the wishbone dining chairs and the global-inspired wooden artwork in the bedroom.

Kensington & Chelsea, London

Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
