Perks for the Parents

A traditional London townhouse with dedicated kids rooms, just minutes from Hyde Park. Sleeps 7. There’s a warm family room and a modern kitchen for easy family breakfasts, and if you need a little peace and quiet, you can head up to the living room/study, or send the kids to the top floor where they’ll be entertained for hours with the hosts’ books and toys. The whole family will love this extra special roof terrace - perfect for stargazing at night.

Why Kids Love it

There’s a choice of kid-suitable bedrooms (as well as toys and books to enjoy) so siblings will have space to work out their favorite. The biggest draw here is the location: with Hyde Park at the end of the street (it’s literally 5 minutes away) you can all spend hours exploring the playgrounds, fountains, the Serpentine gallery, and watch out for local horse riders too.

Things to Know

The day beds in bedrooms 3 and 4 can be made up to sleep 1 or 2 additional guests. Please let us know when you book how you would like it prepared. There will be a £1,500 pre-authorisation processed as a security deposit for bookings in this home. This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period. One loveable dog occasionally visits this home. He won't be around during your stay, but this home may not be suitable for people with allergies. This home is spread over four floors with no internal elevator. The fireplaces in this home are ornamental. The homeowners housekeeper may come on Friday mornings. Please ask our sales team for more information. About the Location

The house is located in a street just off Hyde Park. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to Oxford Street (5-10 minutes to Selfridges and the Disney Store) as well as the boutique stores of Bond Street. It’s also within walking distance of Marylebone village, where you’ll find weekend street markets, and the picturesque Little Venice canals. You can reach the tube or train lines in 10 minutes on foot, at either Paddington, Marble Arch or Lancaster Gate, so it’s extremely well-connected to get around the city.

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. The main entrance level includes the kitchen, dining room, fourth bedroom (with a single day bed/twin beds) and shower room. Upstairs, the living room is on the first floor. The second floor has the primary kingsize bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom and freestanding tub. The top floor has 2 bedrooms ideal for kids: 1 has a single bed and the other has a day bed which can be set up for 1 or 2 guests. This floor also has a shower room.

Style Notes

Owned by an architect, this elegant home boasts many of its original features, such as fireplaces in almost every room, high ceilings clad in the most delicate of cornices, original windows and wooden floors. Despite the traditional design, the hosts have chosen contemporary colors and furnishings to suit modern family living. We love the glorious monochrome primary ensuite, the chic parquet flooring in the living area and the Georgian original windows.

Kensington & Chelsea, London

Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
