Style Notes

Historic, comfortable and spacious. This home was built in 1918 and still has many of the original details. Old Brooklyn charm is in abundance with high pressed-tin ceilings, original hardwood floors, stained glass and beautiful mosaic tiling in the hallway, mixed in with all the modern amenities one would come to expect. Furniture is mostly mid-century modern peppered with antiques and vintage rugs. We love the huge, wooden floored playroom that is full of natural light and toys for kids under 10 – the climbing bars are a great place for kids to work off some energy; the 2nd living room for the kids and the location, not downtown but near enough to it.

My wife and I have lived in Brooklyn for over 8 years now. We both own small businesses in the area, and absolutely love the neighborhood. We have two daughters, ages 3 and 1.

Kensington, Brooklyn

In the center of Brooklyn

Quiet, unpretentious and popular with families, Kensington is just south of Prospect Park and under half an hour from Manhattan by train. Wood frame houses mingle with Brownstones along the leafy streets and families play in Ablemarle Playground. With multicultural food stores, a riding stables and great commuter links, it’s an easy place to base yourself in Brooklyn.

Aron has a fantastic place in Kensington, Brooklyn. It's right next to a playground, and a grocery store and subway station are nearby. The location is fantastic, the place was clean and spacious, and Aron was an excellent, responsive host. I hope we can stay there again sometime soon.

Our family of four (myself, my husband, our son (6) and daughter (5), met up with dear friends from California (wife, husband, teen daughter) for a four-night stay. Entry, stay, and departure instructions were very clear, and from the moment we entered the home, we felt at ease. We all loved the style and aesthetic of this property -- the mid century furniture, the pressed tin ceilings, the linens -- and there was ample space for all. Our kids LOVED the toys and books, and I so appreciate that this home was designed for families. So often you find yourself in a place that doesn't feel friendly to children, or too precious in some way, but Aron's home perfectly merges luxury, comfort, and ease. We all especially loved the heated floors in the upstairs bathroom. The huge, well-appointed kitchen was a natural gathering place, and we enjoyed several meals at home. We had fun exploring Brooklyn and loved how close the home is to the subway for going into the city. Aron was quick to communicate, generous, and helpful. I highly recommend this property!

This house is great, I wish we had more time to actually hang out IN the house. My 2 kids stayed in the bunk beds and played in the playroom, my 17y got his own room, me and my husband got OUR own room, and we had a friend stay with us as well, Lots of charm, GREAT owners and communication, and we even used the car service they recommended. Also literally 2 minute walk to the F Train which takes you into Manhattan. would stay here again in a heartbeat.
