Perks for the Parents

This modern family-friendly villa with a shared pool comes with plenty of items for babies and younger children and has wonderful views of Lake Maggiore. The property is just outside the town of Lesa, a pretty town on the west bank of the lake. Loungers around the infinity pool invite guests to have lazy days outside. The owners of the property are on hand to help guests during their stay; the pool is shared with them only.

Why Kids Love it

Kids of all ages will love the property and especially the pool. There is lots in the area for children to do as well, especially if they like the outdoors and are adventurous. The nearby lake is wonderful to swim in and they can try various watersports. There are also lidos with pools and waterslides as well as adventure-style assault courses in the trees. A travel crib, high chair, change mat and stroller can be provided free of charge on request. Other baby items may be available – please consult the host if you have specific needs.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days. There will be a tourist tax of €1.5 per person per night payable locally to the host upon arrival in cash. There will also be a charge for air conditioning based on usage paid directly to the host upon departure. The residence is on the second floor with elevator access and external stairs. It is on 1 level inside with a few internal stairs at the entrance that can be blocked off on request. Note that the pool is ungated and parents must supervise children while they are outside and around the pool area.

About the Location

The residence is on a hillside above Lake Maggiore and close to the town of Lesa. It has great lake views and is a short drive from the lakeside. It is under an hour from Milan; the nearest airport is Milan Malpensa airport. Car rental highly recommended for exploring this area. There is parking for up to 2 cars at the property.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom family apartment is across 1 level and includes an open plan living, kitchen and dining area, a covered terrace/glass balcony with dining area, and 2 bathrooms, 1 with bath, 1 with shower and wheelchair adaptations. Two of the bedroom have double beds while the third has twin beds. Outside space includes the use of an infinity swimming pool, shared with the owners.

Style Notes

Modern Italian. The property was completed in 2014 and everything is brand new and furnished to a high standard throughout. The space is uncluttered so that parents with young children don't need to worry about breakages. Floor to ceiling windows ensure that guests can enjoy the phenomenal lake views from this area. We love the wooden ceiling beams, the unique contemporary lighting and the sleek modern feel.

Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

I am a Mum of two children. My eldest - Ben - is 16 years old and my youngest - Lucy - is thirteen. As a family, we holiday in Italy 2-3 times a year and love the laid back, relaxed atmosphere that Italy offers us. Italians respect traditional family values and adore children as much as they love their food, which in our eyes makes it the perfect family holiday destination! When they were little we liked to holiday in the Italian Lakes in particular. Our children are now old enough to enjoy the many water sports that the area offers, but we were holidaying in the area since they were only just crawling and found that the area offered plenty for them to enjoy whatever their age. We now like to explore other areas of Italy too, our favourites being Puglia, Tuscany and Umbria as well as the Lakes region. I hope that I can help other families to find their perfect holiday in Italy.

Ruined castles, island hopping and cable car trips

Italy's second largest lake has a wealth of fabulous enticements for families, from islands with ruined castles to cable car trips up mountains for views of the alps, cobbled streets, colorful markets and handbag shops. Active kids will love the Adventure Park in Baveno, and the beach in Cannobio is sandy and ideal for younger tots on a sunny day.

We had a great time during our stay at the lakes. The house was beautiful, clean and very comfortable for our family of 6. Giordano and Fiona are helpful and polite and gave us interesting information about where to go and places to visit. The area is superb and worth spending your holidays especially in spring time.
