They even have a large concrete pad for parking RVs or boats, so you can explore the region’s lakes and mountains with ease.

Why Kids Love it

This is the perfect home for kids who love to explore outdoors. There’s a large outdoor deck that’s surrounded by nature, with an open-top treehouse that you can climb up and overlook the woodland scenery or gaze at the dazzling stars at night. There’s a community swimming pool in nearby Dutch Flats (5 minutes), plenty of hiking trails around and a waterfall at South Yuba (30 minutes).

About the Location

This home is located on the edge of the Tahoe National Forest, 1.5 hours from Lake Tahoe and just over 1 hour from Sacramento. The ski resorts surrounding Lake Tahoe are around 1 hour away (Soda Springs, Boreal Mountain and Sugar Bowl). You can hire boats or swim in Rollins Lake (20 minutes) or explore the challenging trails in the surrounding rural areas. Sacramento airport is around 1 hour away.

Accommodation Details

The property has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set over 1 floor. The main living area boasts plenty of seating, a 58” Smart TV and a double sofabed, sharing the hallway bathroom. There’s also a second living room with a cozy fireplace, as well as a separate kitchen and dining room which features sliding doors leading out on to the terrace. The primary bedroom features a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom; bedrooms 2 and 3 both have queensize beds and share a bathroom (with shower-over-bathtub).

Style Notes

Modern cabin. The hosts have decorated with a neutral, calming color palette, punctuated with striking black furniture and black hardware to add an industrial feel. The cozy wood burner creates a modern take on a classic look, while the use of natural wood in the kitchen and bathrooms references traditional cabin materials. We love the exposed stone wall in the dining room, the contemporary wishbone dining chairs and the nature-inspired wall art.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

In the summer, play on the beach, go pleasure boating or take to the lake trying any number of watersports activities - scuba diving, jet skiing, waterskiing and more are on offer. Simply swimming in the clear water is the best fun. And in the winter, the ski stations nearby offer so much for families: tubing, skiing, skating and sledding, plus daycare for kids from two months old.
