Perks for the Parents

This 2-bedroom house, part of a boutique family resort 15 minutes west of Carcassonne, includes a shared pool, views of the Pyrenees and plenty of space to play. Sleeping up to 4, it is ideal for a small family, and benefits from a range of great play spaces in the resort, including a pool and play barn. Sun loungers and parasols surround the swimming pool and balmy summer days can be spent soaking in the stunning view of the French countryside and mountains beyond. Extras can be pre-arranged including bike hire, wine tasting, massage and beauty in the treatment room, and catering with meals delivered to your door. The whole estate is set up for families, with a total of 4 properties, so it’s easy for the kids to make friends.

Why Kids Love it

The house and grounds offer as much for children as it does their parents. There is a large swimming pool with inflatable toys, and within the safe swimming pool enclosure there is a cute shady wooden cabin with toys where children can play in the heat of the day. There is also is a children’s play area with slide and swings, huge wooden pirate ship, log cabin and 14-foot trampoline as well as an underground vaulted games room with a year-round cool ambient temperature where families can enjoy table football, table tennis and other games. The communal lawned area has badminton and football and the shared 1000-sqft shady barn enclosed on 3 sides is equipped with ride-ons, toys and a beautiful chill out area. Complimentary cribs, bed guards, stair gates, high chairs, strollers, booster seats, changing mats, toys, books and much more can be provided on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay 7 nights Saturday to Saturday, with some flexibility in low season (including alternative arrival and departure days) by prior arrangement. Note that the grounds and children’s play areas are all shared. The pool is set away from the property and is fenced with a childproof gate; it also has an electronically operated hard security cover which is closed at night for extra safety. Stairs inside the house are not gated but do all have rails (stair gates can be provided); younger kids may need supervision in the log cabin which has a small ladder to a bunk bed. The trampoline is fitted with a safety net so that even toddlers can enjoy it and the kids play area is visible from the house. Linen, towels (including pool towels) and end of stay cleaning is included. Check-in Saturday after 4pm and check-out Saturday by 10am.

Languedoc , South of France

From the coast to the mountains

Stretching from the beaches of the Mediterranean coast through the Rhone Valley to the Spanish border and the Pyrenees, the Languedoc covers much of south central France. Discover medieval castles on hilltops in Cathar Country, cycle beside the Canal du Midi, day trip to the busy cities of Nimes, Montpellier and Perpignan, and take the yellow train up into the mountains of the Pyrenees. With lakes and water parks for swimming, Prehistoric caves and Europe’s largest dinosaur museum to explore, along with pretty fishing villages and beautiful scenery, it’s brimming with family-friendly activities.
