Lausanne is home to amazing cultural sights, including theaters, museums, art galleries, botanical gardens, and dance companies, as well as a bustling urban culture. The apartment is short distance to all the central attractions, shops, and museums, but in a quiet, family-friendly part of town. Visit the shores of Lake Geneva (10 minutes by car) for a lake-side beach, majestic harbor, and spacious green parks.

Why Kids Love it

There are plenty of toys for children under 4, including: Lego, dolls, cars, books, games, a tricycle, a scooter, craft materials, and an inflatable paddling pool for little ones to use on the balcony. The hosts also have lots of board games, books, and comics for older kids and teenagers. This residence is also perfect for parents with babies or toddlers: hosts provide a baby bath, baby monitor, high chairs, changing table, and children’s utensils. There are 2 parks nearby with playgrounds (at both ends of the street), one of which has a sand pit, as well as a free outdoor swimming pool (during the summer months) and tennis courts just a few minutes away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The apartment is safe and secure, located on the first floor (with an elevator) of a 4-storey building. There is wood flooring throughout (unglazed) so pre-walking toddlers should be supervised. Sorry - no pets allowed. Car rental is not essential - the apartment is well served by bus and train links. If you do have a car, there is 1 private parking spot in a secure underground garage and another spot for visitors in front of the building. The apartment is 3 minutes walk from 2 bus stops (1 direct line to the city center; 1 direct line to the train station). The residence comes with a dishwasher, housekeeper, washer/dryer, TV, DVD player, and WiFi.

About the Location

This apartment is located in Lausanne in Switzerland. It’s 40 minutes’ drive from Geneva airport and 10 minutes from the city center. You can reach the spectacular Lake Geneva in 20 minutes by car, bus, or metro and Lausanne food market in just 5 minutes by bus. Nearby you'll find child-friendly cafés, supermarkets, a bakery, the best cheese factory in town, playgrounds, and much more. A trip out of the city provides a unique choice of landscapes: visit beaches with views of the Alps, vineyards in the Lavaux, trekking trails in the Alpes vaudoises, aquatic trips on the CGN boats, and more. For wine lovers, it’s around 10 minutes by car or train to Lavaux UNESCO World Heritage site.

Accommodation Details

The apartment has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. There is a large open plan living/dining room with fireplace and fully-equipped kitchen, plus access to a large balcony which has views of Lake Geneva. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed, and there are 2 children’s bedrooms: one with a single sofa bed plus a crib, and another with a set of bunk beds (with bed rail). A travel crib can be added to either of the bedrooms on request. There is also a study which can be used as an additional bedroom if required.

Style Notes

Contemporary casual. This home is modern, peaceful, and stylish, with white, blue-green and charcoal grey tones complemented by wooden floors. It’s clean and light, with big rooms and an open plan kitchen - a nod to pared-back Scandinavian design. The bookshelves contain recipe books and travel guides, while green leafy plants add a spirit of serenity. We love the cute kid’s play kitchen, the unique lighting in the living area, and the minimalist white bathrooms.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
