Style Notes

Country chic. This honey-stoned cottage oozes character with an original medieval fireplace, wall nooks and antique floorboards. Exposed beams and white washed walls sit beautifully alongside modern renovations of the sleek white kitchen with brass handles and the sage green bathroom, complete with Jack and Jill sinks in a vintage sideboard. Little touches like the hand wash and hand cream give it a luxury feel. The living room has a deep sofa and blankets for cuddling up in front of the fire. We love the clawfoot tub in the bathroom for an indulgent soak, the ancient fireplace in the living room, and the wonderfully fun children’s room with beds tucked into the eaves.

Graceful swans and gastropubs

On the southern edge of the Cotswolds, 90 minutes from London, Lechlade is a popular town on the Thames with graceful swans, gastropubs and chocolate box-style houses. There are lakes nearby promising Swallows and Amazons-style family adventures on kayaks, row boats and little islands, along with cycling routes.
