Perks for the Parents

This beautifully-restored farmhouse in the family-friendly region of Limburg is perfect for a large family or group of friends to get away from it all. It sleeps up to 18 plus babies. The recent renovation was done with families in mind and the house has all the baby equipment and toys to keep children happy and parents relaxed. The multi-kitchen and living areas in this property make it ideal for large groups, or those travelling with grandparents or nannies, to have their own private spaces while also being able socialize all together too.

Why Kids Love it

The mud kitchen and dedicated outdoor play areas are great for fresh-air fun and the house has toys to suit all ages, from books and board games to an Xbox and electronic perks. The farmhouse is within walking distance of the Wellen sports hall that also has an outdoor playground. The province of Limburg is very family-friendly. Check out the Bokrijk Open Air Museum with historical buildings where actors bring the past to life, and the Aqua Mundo Erperheide water park with pools and slides – both are within a short drive. The Reading Between The Lines Church nearby is a must-see and a great spot for a family photo; there are a lot of children's farms to visit nearby.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. A car is recommended to explore the area and there is ample outdoor parking. The garden is fenced for children’s safety while playing outside and stair gates are provided but there are some open stair treads where young children will need supervision. The 4 main bedrooms are located upstairs but 2 bedrooms can be set up on the first floor as well, where there is also a large bathroom. Amenities include a dishwasher, baby bath, high chair, microwave and bed linen on request. There is a meeting room for up to 20 people if required.

About the Location

The residence is in the Belgium province of Limburg, just over an hour east of Brussels, 40 minutes north of Liège, and 40 minutes west of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. Limburg is an eastern province of Belgium, close to the Dutch border, and is green and hilly with plenty of nature walks to be had. The cities of Hasselt, Tongeren, Sint-Truiden are within 15 minutes’ drive with plenty for adults and children alike. The Gallo-Roman Museum in Tongeren is great for kids. The museums, architecture, airport and attractions of Brussels are approximately 60 minutes’ drive away.

Accommodation Details

The farmhouse has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms over 2 floors. On the first floor there are 2 full kitchens with a dining table and chairs in each, 3 living rooms with TVs, a library, a full bathroom with a toilet, plus an additional toilet, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. Upstairs there are 2 full bathrooms and 5 bedrooms – 3 with kingsize beds and 2 kids’ rooms with bunkbeds. An additional 4 guests can sleep on 2 double sofabeds set up downstairs. Two travel cribs are also available. A large, enclosed garden has 2 covered terraces furnished with outdoor dining tables and chairs.

Style Notes

Modern family. The house was renovated and designed by interior stylists Thinkstyle to have an open-plan, Scandinavian appeal. Custom wooden furniture, bare brick walls and industrial-chic lighting bring this farmhouse firmly into the 21st century. Bedrooms are chic and crisp, with playful linens and monochrome typographical prints and pictures; floors are typically flagstone and ceilings are natural wood. Outside there is a huge grassy garden that's big enough for everyone to play games in. We love the polished concrete floors, the sleek, white kitchens and the chandelier above the dining table outside.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
