Style Notes
Perfect Provence escape. The owners of this holiday home rented it with their small child and loved it so much they bought it. They have continued to do it up every year and the result is a light and bright modern interior with typically French pastel colors. The kitchen is a French gray and the bathrooms are contemporary with marble tiling. Bedrooms are tranquil with lovely linens. We love the adult bedrooms that each have their own generous-sized shower rooms, the private outdoor space that’s perfect for sunbathing or leisurely al fresco family meals, as well as being walking distance to Bonnieux.
Luberon, Provence
The heart of Provence
For a true taste of Provence, look no further. The Luberon, with its vineyards, 1000-year-old hilltop villages, fields of lavender and a spectacular quality of light that inspired Van Gogh, Cezanne and Picasso, is a fabulous place to visit. There are markets for every day of the week, with stalls piled high with aged cheeses, freshly-baked bread and bright red strawberries; colorful hillsides to walk and ancient villages to visit. Its key towns include Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Arles, where you’ll find bullfighting and Roman ruins. Wander historic streets, eat delicious calissons - an almond-based treat - and take the kids horseback riding, river swimming and hiking in the hills.
