Style Notes

Perfect Provence escape. The owners of this holiday home rented it with their small child and loved it so much they bought it. They have continued to do it up every year and the result is a light and bright modern interior with typically French pastel colors. The kitchen is a French gray and the bathrooms are contemporary with marble tiling. Bedrooms are tranquil with lovely linens. We love the adult bedrooms that each have their own generous-sized shower rooms, the private outdoor space that’s perfect for sunbathing or leisurely al fresco family meals, as well as being walking distance to Bonnieux.

We are a family of 4, Joel, Kara and our daughter Maxine and son Felix. We love the little town of Bonnieux. We rented the villa Paulanne since 10 years, to spend our holidays in Bonnieux and fel in love with the beautiful town and surrounding. In 2019 we bought the house and want to continue welcoming guests when we don't use the Paulanne.

We had a wonderful stay at La Paulanne in June/July 2023. The house and grounds are gorgeous and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The pool was a huge hit, especially with our five year old daughter. Days could be spent by the pool with a walk into Bonnieux or driving to one of many beautiful surrounding villages for lunch and sightseeing. The views from the house are magnificent and we often sat outside till dark (10 pm) marvelling at the scenery. Even a trip to the local grocery store was a pleasure! Christian, the housekeeper, went above and beyond in helping us to feel at home during our stay. We hold the memories of La Paulanne dear and hope to return one day!

We had a wonderful stay at La Paulanne in August 2022. The house is located in a beautiful setting, a few hundred metres walk from the very picturesque village of Bonnieux. Our whole family really enjoyed daily walks into the village to get fresh pastries for breakfast, and enjoy delicious crepes and ice-cream at Le Tinel (we still reminisce about the ice-cream!). Our boys were 4 and 6 at the time of our stay and found the walk up the hill easy, helped by the promise of tasty treats at the end of the walk! Joel provided us with some excellent local recommendations ahead of our stay, which was our first visit to Provence, and house keeper Christian was very helpful during our stay, ready to answer questions. The house itself is bigger than it appeared in the photos, the garden is really lovely, with lots of seating areas. The new pool is fantastic with stunning views up the hill to the village and church. The village was almost entirely occupied by French holiday makers, which was a pleasant surprise, and gave our boys chance to try out some French phrases. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Paulanne!

We booked the La Paulanne after seeing the beautiful photos and it surpassed all our desires. Bonnieux is a small, convivial village - while we visited the neighboring villages, our 9 month old and we were most at home playing in the La Paulanne’s wonderful pool and making the morning walk into town for fresh croissants and baguettes. Christian was a fantastic groundskeeper, checking in throughout our stay, always with a laugh. We had a wonderful time at the residence, and can’t wait to return for another stay soon.

We couldn’t have been happier with La Paulanne! Gorgeous house with everything we needed and the location was perfect! We loved walking into the charming town of Bonnieux and easily driving to the other surrounding Villages. Joel was the perfect host - offering great recommendations, helping us find a babysitter and always very quick to reply and make sure everything was taken care of! We will definitely be back!
