A high tech, futuristic, state-of-the-art villa on the coast of Madeira, well-designed for families to create incredible moments. Sleeps 6. At the heart of the living space, a sky void reveals the moonlight, illuminating a library filled with iconic books and historical artifacts - perfect for parents to escape for a moment of peace. The space is cleverly designed with structural pillars which allow walls to melt away, offering uninterrupted views of the Atlantic as if the ocean has become part of the home. Choose to hang out on the roof terrace with a book, have a blissful swim in the infinity pool, or hike along the beautiful coastline in the glorious sunshine.

Why Kids Love it

Older kids will appreciate how unique and special this home is, and they’ll love exploring all the different spaces, from the herb garden, fruit orchard and vegetable garden, to the children’s pool, infinity pool and jacuzzi. Active kids can play out in the farm lands and end the day roasting marshmallows on the firepit, while gadget-loving kids will never tire of the home’s very cool technology - let them work out how to change the lights, media and sound with different commands and buttons around the house. All rooms have rain showers (one has a roman spa bathtub for younger kids) and there’s also a choice of water guns and toys, a crib and a high chair.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 night. The house is designed for older children; children under 5 years old must be supervised at all times as there are a lot of steps and ungated pools. The house has faceless ID entry and a hidden elevator. Every room, every corner can be adjusted to suit your mood, through a series of calibrated modes, for example reading, meditation, entertainment, dining or party. Light, sound, water features, ambient conditions and mechanical movement recalibrate, activated through wall touch panels, voice or on any device. A precision engineered system using spring water from the mountains that runs into the house through an exposed flowing stream, to water the plants on the estate. This creates a beautiful sound of ever-running water every time you step out-side or return home.

About the Location

The house is located in the small town of Ribeira Brava, on Madeira’s southern coast, with stunning views of volcanic hillsides to the north and dramatic, endless seas to the south. The closest beach in the village is around 1.5km, and very hilly, so a car rental is advised to get around this coastal area. The best local beaches are Ribeira Brava (5 mins), Ponta Do Sol (10 mins) and Calheta (15 mins). This is where lush green mountains collide with the untamed Atlantic Ocean. The site is surrounded by sacred UNESCO heritage geoparks, mountains and waterfalls, lying just minutes from white sandy beaches, golf courses, and the island’s capital, Funchal. You’ll be greeted only by the distant sound of birds each time you return home, the ever-present rhythm of the sea, and the whispering of the wind through neighbouring banana and cane plantations.

The property has 3 floors with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The house has a large open-plan spa house design format, built around pools and jacuzzis, with a separate eat-in kitchen and outdoor bbq kitchen for luxurious outdoor living. Over 90% sustainable, the home harnesses solar energy for its extensive system and automa-tion, spring water for irrigating its permaculture, fruit orchard and herb gardens, and cutting-edge technology to reduce its environmental footprint while offering luxurious living with min-imal environmental impact using its rain, sun and light sensors used by the AI to recalibrate its daily operational efficiency.

Each of the home’s levels bring distinct emotions, each offering a direct connection to the dramatic scenery. From the raw, exposed lower level that welcomes in the elements and sweeping ocean views, to the garden level inspired by Madeira’s volcanic legacy with moody, earthy tones. The highest level perches above it all, an encapsulated haven of light leaks and an in-room Roman spa to soak it all in.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

I’m Priyesh, Founder of Prometheus and lead designer of this project. Together with a team of 120 passionate humans, we crafted this unique refuge—a floating mirrored glass sculpture that hovers above the rustic farmlands of this quaint Portuguese archipelago. Our design guidelines prescribed that the habitat would need to rethink all rules of design and showcase extraordinary engineering on this beautiful volcanic island.
