Perks for the Parents

This spacious 6-bedroom house has plenty for active families, from surfboards to borrow to a current pool, infrared sauna and a private sandy beach. There is a deck under the trees for meditation and yoga and hiking trails are easily accessible. It is close to a grocery market and is a 5-minute drive to Paradise Cove.

Why Kids Love it

The house is great for all ages and is kitted out with plenty to keep them occupied. The beach is a short walk down a creek; there is a grassy area outside for sports and plenty of beach gear is provided including a paddle board, boogie board, surfboards, umbrellas, beach chairs, and towels. The house has a stage - great for kids to perform - plus toys, games and a big movie screen with projector and movies.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 days. The house is safe and secure with 1 set of wide stairs and has a few steps inside the house - younger children may need extra help. The pool has a childproof cover and the area is gated. The driveway can store multiple cars. There is a creek at the bottom of the property that leads directly to the private beach. Children must be supervised around the pool and creek.

About the Location

The residence is just outside Paradise Cove in Malibu, with private access to a private beach. The beach is known locally as the best beach and beach access in all of Malibu. The market is about 2 miles away and it is easy to get an uber anywhere in the area. The nearest airport is about a 45-minute drive with no traffic. Point Dume State Beach is a 7-minute drive away while downtown Malibu is a 7-minute drive away. Downtown LA is approximately an hour away.

Accommodation Details

This 6-bedroom, 5-bathroom house has a large open living space with dining room, lounge and kitchen, plus a stage with a curtain and big movie screen for film/play night. The primary bedroom with kingsize bed and bathroom is upstairs and has an attached bedroom with either a twin bed or crib. A second bedroom with queensize bed and ensuite bathroom is also upstairs. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, 1 with a queensize bed, 1 with a kingsize bed and 1 with a family size king size bed. Grounds include a small pool, outdoor shower and infra red sauna.

Style Notes

Modern beach house. The house has plenty of room for sleeping and play. The style is relaxed with plenty of pillows and blankets. Enjoying family time together is the focus - whether that is in the lounge around the big screen on movie night or playing in the garden with its myriad play spaces and activities. We love the open air lounge and the large grassy spaces, along with the indoor hammock and fun, relaxed decor throughout.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

Malibu has starred in so many films, TV shows and music videos that it needs its own Equity card. Get ready to snap the kids playing on the beach from Planet of the Apes - or if they’re tweens, the spot where One Direction shot a video. The beaches here are wonderful and you’re sure to find a quiet spot somewhere; don’t miss hiking the canyons (there are even stroller-friendly walks), buying kitsch souvenirs on Malibu Pier and watching surfers ride big waves.

Our family had a great time at the Zumirez residence! The grandparents appreciated the downstairs bedrooms, the kitchen was perfect for gathering and collectively cooking big meals, and we loved watching movies on the projector. The fireplaces make it cozy, and the grounds are lush! Our toddler enjoyed the hammock and the pomegranate trees. I'd definitely recommend it to other families. The property manager was quick to answer the questions we had that came up during our stay, and our hosts were helpful, friendly, and communicative. Thanks!

Our stay at the Zumirez residence was absolutely amazing, really the perfect place for a family vacation! The house was extremely comfortable for our large group with a wonderful open kitchen for cooking up meals, a giant table to gather around, and endless spaces to lounge. The kids absolutely loved the trampoline, the pool and the big open lawn! They also loved preforming on the stage, and checking out all the books and toys. Everyone enjoyed rides in the mule down to the beach- and that beach really is such a treat, so private and beautiful. We couldn't have asked for anything more, and Sydney was extremely accommodating! There were even fresh citrus to add to our cocktails :)
