Perks for the Parents

This warm and welcoming family home on a quiet Malmö street is surrounded by a lovely garden and sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. Close to a park and with all of Malmö's delights a short drive away, including its beach and shopping area, it is a quiet and easy way to enjoy this coastal town.

Why Kids Love it

The garden is a great place to play, with a lawn and trampoline. Inside the house, the children’s bedroom has plenty of toys to enjoy, and there is a separate playroom downstairs, next to the kitchen, with more toys, including Lego, to enjoy. Pick apples or plums in the garden in season, watch boats in the harbor or catch cultural events in the city itself.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days. Car rental advised. High chairs and booster seats can be provided, as can a crib on request. The owners have 2 lovely cats, who are very self sufficient and do not need a lot of additional care. They typically stay at the property while the owner is away but they can be boarded on request. Note: there are no stair gates. Parking is on street outside the property. Air beds can be added on request if needed. Malmö lends itself to a 2-destination stay, with Copenhagen just across the Öresund Bridge and easy to explore in a day trip.

About the Location

The house is 12 minutes from the center of Malmö by car, set on a quiet residential street in an upscale area of the city. It is approximately 20 minutes’ drive from Malmö central station, and slightly longer by bus. A car or bikes are recommended for getting around, but there are good public transport links in the area. There are supermarkets and shops a short walk away, along with a park. The closest airport is Copenhagen Kastrup, a 20-minute train ride away from Malmö's main station.

Accommodation Details

This house is set over 3 levels. The main floor has a large living room, conservatory, kitchen, downstairs toilet and play room. Upstairs, there is a bedroom with kingsize bed, and a second bedroom with double bed, and a third bedroom with a toddler bed. There is a bathroom with tub and shower. The garden is enclosed with a hedge, and there is space to park on the street outside. There is a basement, not for guest use.

Style Notes

Swedish style. With plenty of light and bags of cozy features, this family home is a welcoming and easy place to stay in the city. Make the most of charming features - apple and plum trees in the garden and the light-filled conservatory for sunny days - and enjoy the kitchen, stocked with Alessi egg cups for a stylish start to the day. The living space has mid-Century sofas and chairs, a TV, modern art and a grand piano. We love the sleek master bedroom, the sweet children’s rooms and the garden.

I'm American living in Sweden and my husband is Swedish. We have 2 sweet school- aged children who speak English and Swedish. I've been a teacher for 17 years. My family was in the hospitality business when I was a child and our own little family loves the experiences of meeting new people and helping others make happy memories during their Swedish visit! We try our best to make your stay as lovely as possible and we re-invest into making home improvements -so everyone's stay can be even nicer. Like many of you, our family also enjoys traveling. Our children would love to go to Hawaii and maybe we will one Swedish winter...and stay at a host home with Kid & Co! We are looking forward to sharing lovely Sweden with YOU...

Malmö, Sweden

Simple pleasures

In southern Sweden, close to the Swedish Riviera, Sweden’s third largest city is linked to Copenhagen via the Oresund Bridge, meaning that you can visit Denmark’s capital in under 40 minutes and experience two countries in one day. Explore Malmö’s lively historic core, then let the kids run free in the main Stortorget or Lilla Torg squares. The castle is a firm family favourite, and the harbourside a wonderful spot to ‘simply be’. There’s also a fairytale-themed playground for little ones to explore, and older children might enjoy a trip to the solar playground for its dizzying slides.

We loved our stay at this house. It's pretty, super comfortable, had everything we needed, and the hosts were responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! As recommended you should rent a car to get around.

We had a fantastic time at this lovely family home. The garden delighted the kids, we all loved the cats and found it overall a very comfortable experience. The host had been so thoughtful and left a lot of information out for us, and it was clear where to find everything. It was a great experience for us and we look forward to booking it again.

My family of 4 stayed here for a whole month in September 2016. We even had relatives coming over to stay with us a couple of times (grandpa's and grandma's). There was enough space. Even more important is that we really enjoyed our stay in this house in Malmo. My two boys (3 and 1) couldn't get enough of playing with all the toys in the house and the trampoline in the garden. My husband really much enjoyed biking them around in the cargo bike, which was available to us all the time. The kitchen is a bit outdated and some doors in the house could use a fix up, but overall the house is really like in the pictures. Plenty of space, toys, and a great garden. Bikes are really a big plus. It is good to know that the house is quite far from the city center of Malmo. A car is really a must. But the center of Limhamn is on walking distance with supermarkets and other small shops. It is a nice, quiet, upscale neighborhood. The owners are friendly and helpful; they gave us a lot of privacy. We would definitely recommend this place!
