There is large desk space for those needing to work. The fireplace in the living room is decorative so safe for little ones to be around. There is private parking available on the drive for 2 cars (please let the hosts know if both spaces are required so they can move their car); there is also a level 2 EV charger for added convenience. The property has an alarm system. Sorry, no pets. Above the playroom is a separate guest suite which is home to the family's beloved longtime babysitter, who stays on certain dates when she is not on tour as a musician. She accesses through a side gate in the garden and does not play any music there - she’s very quiet. She can also offer her services for babysitting if available.

Style Notes

Mid-century modern Mar Vista. A stylishly renovated Tudor house that draws on inspiration from both LA and Europe with contemporary furnishings by Eames, Sarah Ellison and Hay alongside vintage finds from LA and London. Hardwood floors are complimented by warm neutral rugs, modern photography and eclectic artworks to create a chic, mid-century modern style sanctuary. The statement original fireplace in the double height living room nods to the house’s past adding character and coziness. Feature arched windows and doors flood in the natural light and pretty garden views. We love the kitchen with its sleek marble counter tops and charming breakfast nook, with patio doors that can be flung open to let in the warm LA breeze, and the little ones out to play.

My son and I currently live in Mar Vista, CA, having moved here after a decade in London. Our family is all over the world.

Mar Vista, Los Angeles

Close to the beach

Sandwiched between Culver City and Venice Beach, this family-friendly neighborhood has palm tree-lined boulevards and friendly neighbors and is a great spot for a family break near the sea. Grab some bikes and strike out - it’s around 10-15 minutes to the beach - or spend time playing at the Mar Vista Recreation Area.
