Perks for the Parents

A full service riad with luxurious interior styling and 2 plunge pools, just minutes away from the bustling Medina. It sleeps 12. You won’t have to lift a finger during your stay here - you’re welcome to use the kitchen, but the riad’s friendly staff will be happy to cook for you. Breakfast at the rooftop is included in your stay, as is daily cleaning, and lunch and dinner are available for an extra fee. When you want to explore, there is a traditional hammam just 2 minutes away and the hosts can arrange for a guide to accompany you to the local souks, where you can search for authentic local carpets or other interior gems. This stylish riad will help you unwind after a day of exploring the souks while drifting away to the murmur of singing birds.

Why Kids Love it

The house is suitable for all ages. The kids will love playing in both of the 2 pools - 1 on the patio downstairs and 1 on the rooftop (not gated). Out on the street you’re likely to find neighborhood kids out playing soccer in this safe area. There is so much to see and explore in the souks and on the big square - little kids will be amazed at all the colors, culture and sensory overloads. For days out, there’s a great waterpark 15 minutes away and the hosts can even book a trip for you to experience a day in the desert.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The riad has 2 levels and a roof terrace, with no stair gates. The pools are not gated. The hosts can arrange airport transfers or local car journeys with a private driver. The owners have 25 years experience and knowledge of the area so their expertise is ideal for new visitors to the city. The hosts can have groceries delivered for you, arrange a nanny to watch the kids or book a massage at the house.

About the Location

The house is located in Kenaria, a well developed and safe area of Marrakesh. There are many shops and restaurants just a few minutes from the house, and it’s also close to the area of Gueliz, which you can easily reach by taxi from the main square. It’s 10 minutes’ walk to Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace, or 15 minutes’ walk to Koutoubia mosque. The nearest airport is Marrakech-Menara, 15 minutes away by car.

Accommodation Details

The riad has 6 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and double bed. There is 1 room on the ground floor with an extra large bed that could sleep 4. All of the bathrooms are also equipped with rain showers, and 3 bathrooms also have a bathtub. There are 2 kitchens for you to use, 1 on the patio and one at the rooftop, where you’ll find views over the Medina. There are 2 fireplaces, one of which is on the rooftop, where you can enjoy a glass of wine after the kids are asleep.

Style Notes

Luxury riad. This 300-year-old house feels like a little palace; an oasis of light neutral tones that evokes the desert surroundings. It’s been designed and built using traditional skills and materials, such as marble countertops and tadelakt wall plastering. The owner is a stylist who pays great attention to detail. Throughout the house you’ll find carefully-selected tableware and antique silverware and in the riad boutique, there are curated pre-loved Yves Saint Laurent pieces and locally sourced gems from the Medina. We love the deep green painted woodwork, the minimalist kitchen and the beautiful curved doorway arches.

Marrakech, Morocco

Snake charmers and desert gardens

Visiting Marrakech is like stepping into a heady Arabian dream - from snake charmers in Djemma el Fna square to the labyrinthine souks where you can’t fail to get lost among stalls of magic lanterns. Soak up the atmosphere with pretty pastries and mint tea in a pavement café and be sure to visit the Majorelle Gardens on the outskirts of the city where the exotic garden displays the brightest colors around. Outside the city, day trip to the Atlas Mountains or take the kids camel riding in the Sahara - it’s a magical experience for all the family.
