This hidden retreat within the chaotic and colorful medina is ideal for a family, with a shaded patio where kids can play in the shade, and a manager offering daily Moroccan breakfasts, for a fee. There is a great food and vegetables market, 2 minutes away from the riad. The medina is car-free and you do not need to rent a car to explore Marrakesh.

Why Kids Love it

This beautiful, authentic and character-packed space appeals to kids as well as adults, with an open patio in the middle with a view to the sky and stars of Marrakesh at night. The residence has no toys but the atmosphere is so authentic and different that kids will love it for its simplicity. The bathrooms have both showers and are heated. Wandering the narrow streets of the medina, admiring piles of bright spices or stalls of bangles and leather bags, is a magical experience for all ages. A crib and high chair are available.

About the Location

The residence is in Marrakesh Medina, in the heart of the city’s winding souks and narrow streets. This district is pedestrianized. It is a unique place to stay in an ancient, busy and vibrant city. You can walk to Place des Epices in 4 minutes and to Place el Jemaa El Fna in 5 minutes. You can get lost in the shopping around the souk and enjoy the street food market at the main square easily, or take day trips to the mountains. Style Notes

Classic Riad. This beautiful home includes contemporary European decor and Moorish touches, with banana trees on the patio, colorful bedrooms and Scandinavian touches in the master bedroom design. The cozy reading room is an added delight; we also admire the smooth tadelakt bathrooms, the cozy sitting nooks and the tropical plants throughout. We love dreaming about sipping mint tea on the rooftop patio, admiring the stars at night, and relaxing after a busy day exploring bustling streets full of treasures with a relaxing evening by the fire.

Marrakesh, Morocco

Snake charmers and desert gardens

Visiting Marrakesh is like stepping into a heady Arabian dream - from snake charmers in Djemma el Fna square to the labyrinthine souks where you can’t fail to get lost among stalls of magic lanterns. Soak up the atmosphere with pretty pastries and mint tea in a pavement café and be sure to visit the Majorelle Gardens on the outskirts of the city where the exotic garden displays the brightest colors around. Outside the city, day trip to the Atlas Mountains or take the kids camel riding in the Sahara - it’s a magical experience for all the family.
