This charming historic villa in rural Sicily sleeps up to 9 in the main house and a further 10 in three private apartments, plus 3 babies, and is an ideal choice a family get together with school age children. On Sicily’s unspoilt west coast at the edge of a national park, the residence is surrounded by ancient salt marshes, vineyards, windmills and olive groves. Kids will love picking oranges from the trees, gathering eggs from the hens and selecting their own vegetables from the garden, along with taking boat trips out to nearby islands. There are bikes, toys and a table football game to play with too. Each apartment has a private kitchen, bathroom and outdoor area. We love the rustic chic decor, the luxurious bedding and the beautiful stonework.

I am Italian and my wife is Japaneese, we have two children, we love Sicily and we believe that by restoring a historic house to its former glory we are helping to regenerate the coast of Sicily and protect the land from the horrible new building constructions. During the renovation of the villa we have tried as much as possible to use natural, local products. All our marble is Sicilian, the colors used to paint the wall is made by Sicilian grounds and natural lime. The floors use a mix of natural and decorated tiles, something you can’t find anywhere else. Every single room at Villa Salinara used to be a family home. We renovated them to have one single property, with all of them connected through the garden. We have used only local artisans and never bought anything from large retail chains. Old doors, old windows, old floors, beds, wardrobes, have all been recycled from the past and restored. Our life has changed a lot. Here at Villa Salinara, we work 24 hours a day, but at the same time, we are in a place of holiday and get to spend time with people who are usually very happy and relaxed. Our life is much better than before. We live near the sea and every day we can see the blue sky, the blue sea and the sunset face to face with Africa.
