Perks for the Parents

A charming mews house in the heart of Marylebone, just steps away from the capital’s world-famous shopping destinations. It sleeps 6. Despite the bustling central location, these mews streets are quieter than the surrounding roads, and you’ll be just steps away from Selfridges on Oxford Street, as well as the beautiful Wallace Collection art gallery. Head to Marylebone for independent boutiques, world-class restaurants and weekend farmers markets in the pretty ‘village’ high street.

Why Kids Love it

It’s less than 15 minutes’ walk to Regents Park, where you try rowing boats in summer, play in the playground or visit the world-famous London Zoo. It’s also within walking distance of the Disney Store (Oxford Street) and Hamleys Toy Store (Regent Street) for younger kids, as well as Hyde Park (less than 20 minutes’ walk) where kids of all ages can explore playgrounds, sports courts, horse-riding and open water swimming in the Serpentine.

Things to Know

No smoking, pets or parties. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which must be signed and submitted. The property is set over 4 floors and may not be suitable for families with mobility concerns. This property sits at the end of a mews, with no through traffic. Please note there is access for staff of Marylebone Hotel through a back entrance in the mews. The property is fitted with soundproof windows to reduce the city noise. For families with allergies, note that a dog used to live here. Parking is available on Sundays.

About the Location

The house is located in the heart of Marylebone, around 10 minutes’ walk from Baker St, Oxford Circus or Bond Street subway stations. Mayfair, Soho and Hyde Park are all within walking distance, and it’s easy to rent bicycles or scooters to explore the area. The nearest airport is Heathrow (around 45 minutes by car or subway/train).

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. You enter directly into the modern kitchen, with an eat-in dining table for 6. The living room is situated upstairs, together with a WC. Upstairs on the second floor, you’ll find 2 bedrooms - 1 kingsize (low-rise) bedroom and a cozy double bedroom - as well as a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower. The third kingsize bedroom is located on the top floor and boasts an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. Outside, there is a small area accessed via the kitchen back door, where you can store bikes if needed.

Style Notes

Clean and contemporary. This modern mews house features minimal styling and classic neutral colors for a modern look. A sleek white kitchen stands out when contrasted with the contemporary black window frames, and the hosts have used gray and white furnishings to keep the environment simple and calm. We love the bedroom artwork, the marble tiling in the bathroom and the exterior window boxes, adding charm to the mews-style architecture.

Marylebone, London

Parks, zoos and a chic high street

Marylebone is a fantastic central location for a London vacation with kids. This upmarket district of the city is near green spaces and child-friendly cafes, the best butcher and fromagerie in town, Regents Park, Paddington Park and, for when mom needs a little shopping hit, the mecca that is Selfridges.
