Perks for the Parents

The house is well set up for a family (or two!) to stay, with multiple living and dining spaces and an expansive outdoor lawn. The hosts have 3 children and are used to comfortably hosting friends and their families for extended stays here. One of the biggest draws is the location - just steps from the pebbly Black Rock Beach - which means you won’t need to get everyone into the car every time the kids want to go to the water. It’s also just 3 minutes’ drive to Sandy Beach, the iconic Cohasset town beach with a large snack bar.

Why Kids Love it

The property has a beautiful lawn, with lawn games and nets for family competitions. The garage is stocked with beach toys, and there’s a dedicated den/playroom with toys, books and games and a TV for chill out time. Kids will have their own space to relax - there are 2 other separate living rooms and a dining room for the grown-ups. Don't miss Friday night family picnic/pizza nights at Sandy Beach!

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights in summer, 3 nights at other times. Safety notes: given the age of the home, there are uneven floors in several areas (in particular upstairs). Please note that pets are not permitted. Events and parties of any kind are strictly prohibited. We maintain a quiet, respectful environment for our guests and neighbors.

About the Location

The house is located directly across the street from Black Rock Beach in Massachusetts. It’s around 40 minutes from Boston airport by car. There’s also a ferry that goes between Hingham and Hull (10 minutes’ drive) and downtown Boston and Logan Airport, so you can go for a day trip out to the city (and see the Red Sox!). Head up to the Paragon Carousel on Nantusket Beach (5 minutes’ drive) or take a trip over to World’s End (10 minutes’ drive) for hiking trails with views over the city skyline.

Accommodation Details

The house has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The downstairs features a gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances (Wolf, Bosch), spacious living room with TV, cocktail lounge, dining room (with a table to seat 10-12), an office/library, den/playroom, plus 1 full bathroom with a shower/bath and 1 powder room. Upstairs, you’ll find 5 bedrooms: a primary bedroom with a kingsize bed, TV and ensuite bathroom, another kingsize bedroom + ensuite, plus 2 queensize bedrooms and a great kids room with 1 queen bed and a set of bunk beds. This floor also has a shared family bathroom with tub and shower.

Style Notes

It has been thoughtfully updated by the current hosts with coastal designer furnishings, organic Avocado mattresses and Parachute/Serena & Lily designer bedding for a comfortable stay. The spacious lot offers exquisite stonework, patios, and gardens where you can enjoy the ocean breeze. We love the ceiling beams in the kitchen area, the rustic wooden textures used in the living rooms and the beautiful window seat in the bedroom.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
