In the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, this contemporary apartment is on a historic tree-lined street with everything an easy walk or tram ride away. Laid out on 1 floor, it includes a kitchen, laundry and 2 bedrooms. The whole city is on your doorstep, with great transport routes nearby and dining options just steps away. There is a bath in the bathroom and a dining room table for family meals.

Why Kids Love it

There is enough space for kids to play and the hosts can offer a travel crib and high chair for no extra fee. A small selection of toys and games are available. All beds are accessible for children of all ages. There is a kids playground 2 blocks away and the city’s aquarium is just around the corner. Down the street, Culture Kings sells LA-influenced fashion and sneakers and All Star Comics is great for comics and graphic novels.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 nights. There is no parking provided but there are several commercial car parks under 200m away. The apartment is on the third floor with 2 elevators. Car rental not essential with great public transit routes in the neighborhood. Federation Square is 15 minute walk away; the city's botanic gardens are 30 minutes by tram and the Docklands area with its observation wheel is 10 minutes away by train.

About the Location

The apartment is on Queen Street in the heart of vibrant Melbourne. Within a 1-block radius you can find gothic and art deco architecture, indie comic shops, cutting edge LA fashion and food from around the world, including Japanese, Middle East Fusion and Italian. Trams, trains, taxi rank and buses can whisk you to everywhere in the city. Melbourne airport is a 25-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom 1-floor apartment has a kitchen with laundry, living space plus dining room, and 2 bedrooms at either end of the apartment. One bedroom has a kingsize bed, the other has a double/full size bed. A twin bed and travel crib are also available on request. There is a bathroom with bathtub and shower over it. There is no outside space but there are playgrounds nearby.

Style Notes

Sleek and contemporary. This apartment has crisp white walls used as the perfect canvas for modern photography, colourful canvases and bright throw rugs. The walls of windows bring in light, giving a relaxed, airy feeling (note too that they are double glazed, to help you get a good night’s sleep in the center of the city!). We love the simple, easy layout and the unbeatable location.

Four seasons in one day

Like Sydney, Melbourne is a city with a beach that is terrific for kids, but that’s where the comparisons end. This delightful, laid-back, culture-focused city has everything from parading penguins to skyscrapers, surf beaches and superior coffee to keep you going. Take transport-crazy tots on a ride around town by tram, hit the highest point in the Southern Hemisphere by zooming up to Skydeck 888 and ride the vintage rollercoasters in St Kilda’s Luna Park right by the sea. Parent-oriented treats include the Yarra wineries a short drive away, great food and one of the world’s best comedy festivals. Pack warm clothes and put something waterproof in your luggage - Melbourne is the original city of ‘four seasons in one day’.
