Why Kids Love it

Kids will love the very safe trampoline which has a net and no coils. They will also adore the tree swing and basketball net out front. There are scooters, bikes and skateboards of all sizes to borrow. Look no further for books and games for all ages (the hosts have 5 children of their own that they have raised here). The back yard is safe and enclosed with turf so great for kids to run around and play ball games. Menlo Park is a family friendly area with plenty of parks (6 or more) and easy walking to playgrounds, grocery stores and restaurants. In town, Cheeky Monkey Toys is a lovely store with interactive displays.

Style Notes

Modern Mediterranean. This house was fully remodeled by the owners in 2018 and combines beautiful soft colors with textures and lots of natural light through the large Crittall windows. The living room is cozy with deep grey velvet sofas stacked high with colorful cushions and a contemporary gas fireplace. The kitchen is very large and sociable with marble countertops and top end appliances. The bedrooms are stunning with bold backdrops and matching cushions and drapes. We love all of the beautifully styled bathrooms – the black tiles and fittings with a soaking tub are particularly gorgeous; the Spanish-inspired geo tiled staircase, the Californian surfer artwork, and the open plan space.

Menlo Park, Palo Alto

Green and friendly

This Bay Area town, sandwiched between San Francisco and Palo Alto, is family-friendly, safe and has a real sense of community. There are plenty of parks in the neighborhood plus a small and friendly downtown. Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo and Stanford Sailing Center are two of the attractions nearby, and of course, it’s easy to get into San Francisco. After a day in the city, returning to this quiet, friendly area is a real pleasure.
