A stunning rural villa just outside Mahon, Menorca with panoramic views, professionally-designed interiors, and a large swimming pool. It sleeps 10 + 2. The house was fully refurbished by interior designer, Laura Butler-Madden and has been completed to a very high standard. This is a truly luxurious place to stay: parents will love the calming and relaxing decor and the spacious open-plan design. Chill out by the pool or fix a cocktail at the outdoor bar, and watch the sunset go down on the beautiful terrace. When you’ve had some time to recharge (and if you can bear to leave), this quiet and unspoiled island is easy to explore, with over 100 sandy beaches and coves to visit, as well as traditional villages, beach restaurants and picturesque harbors at every turn.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts have ensured that this house is perfectly set up for children of all ages. They provide 2 cribs, high chairs and lots of toys, which can be used in either of the spacious living areas - there’s plenty of room to play. Kids will love the huge swimming pool in their backyard, and being so close to the beaches: the shores here are beautifully clear, calm and turquoise, ideal for little ones to paddle and for older kids to try snorkeling, scuba diving or paddle boarding. It’s 10 minutes away from Es Grau nature reserve (an undeveloped and beautiful coastal area with shallow waters, perfect for toddlers) and Menorca’s zoo, which has an animal petting area. Kids are welcome and well catered for in Menorca - nearly all the restaurants are child-friendly and there’s even mini play areas in Mahon airport to entertain kids while you wait for your flight.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights in high season - bookings run from Saturday to Saturday whenever possible. Weekly cleaning takes place at 350EUR each time. This will be included in your rate for each week you book. Safety notes: there is a gate at the top terrace down to the pool area, so children can be kept safely away from this space until they are supervised by adults. Parking is available - car hire is recommended to explore the island and public transport is limited. There is occasional noise from planes passing by, depending on the wind direction, as one of the island’s flight paths is close to Mahon. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and there are large fans in the other 3 rooms. This property comes with hotel-style luxuries: as well as large Egyptian towels and swimming towels, hosts also provide Bramley products (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, and hand cream) for guests. These full-size bottles are for guests to enjoy during their stay - please don't take them with you when you leave!

About the Location

This residence is located near Mahon in Menorca. It’s around 15 minutes’ drive to Menorca international airport. It’s just 5 minutes’ drive to the capital city of Mahon with its beautiful harbor and traditional restaurants, and some of the island’s best beaches and pretty coastal coves are also nearby - don’t miss Es Grau, Binibequer, Alcaufar, Sa Mesquida, and Fornells. Menorca is known for being an extremely family-friendly destination, with children welcome in restaurants and safe waters at most of the beaches. It’s only 45 minutes’ drive to reach the other end of the island, so most areas are within easy reach. Visit Ciutadella de Menorca on the west coast and discover some of the island’s most picturesque medieval streets and gothic architecture. For little ones, there is a water park just 20 minutes away, boats to hire down at the marina, and plenty of opportunities to try water sports at the nearby beaches.

Accommodation Details

The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. There are 2 main living areas: a beautiful living room connected to the kitchen, creating a sociable space with views across the island; and a large second living room with a huge corner sofa, TV, fireplace, board games, and cozy bean bags - ideal for relaxing with the family. The bedrooms: 3 rooms have kingsize beds, 1 has a queensize bed, 1 has 2 single beds. The family bathroom, shared by 2 bedrooms, has a bathtub while the other bedrooms each have an ensuite bathroom with shower. The outside spaces are just as beautiful as the inside, with a choice of terraces. Upstairs, the beautifully-tiled main terrace runs the length of the house, with a large wooden table seating 10, a coffee bar, additional seating, and a hanging chair. Downstairs there is a pool terrace, a stunning outdoor kitchen/bar area with a large gas BBQ, Smeg fridge-freezer, toaster and kettle, as well as a hob and dishwasher. There is more seating here, as well as a pair of hanging chairs under the bougainvillea and a hammock to enjoy the far reaching views. There is a second area on this level with a large Balearic-style chill out space and a second large BBQ.

Style Notes

Island paradise. ‘Ses Milans’ is a beautifully stylish home with a soft and calming palette, together with elegant touches of gold, brass, and marble to add a hint of luxury and mid-century modernity. Bright and full of light, it has a beach house feel (think white woodwork and natural textures), with pops of color and fun throughout. The design takes full advantage of the amazing panoramic views - maximizing areas to relax outdoors and appreciating the breathtaking sunsets - and the gardens are simply stunning, with beautiful planting including jasmine, lavender and bougainvillea. We love the splash of soft pink in the kitchen from the Bert & May tiles, the seascape aerial photo artwork by Tommy Clarke, and the stunning built-in bench seating area decorated in subtle pastel hues.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
