Perks for the Parents

A spectacular family villa with on-site staff and a private heated pool, located in Valle de Bravo, known as the ‘Pueblo Magico’, 2 hours from Mexico City. It sleeps 12. This is a great spot for family vacations, where you can do as much or as little as you like: play a few games on the tennis court, swim some laps in the pool, or even head to the nearby country club where there’s a spa, restaurant and golf course. But if you’re just here to relax, you and your family will be looked after by the on-site staff who’ll take care of all the cleaning and cooking. Spend the night on around the fire pit making s’mores and having a glass of wine or just enjoy a quiet evening at one of the super-cozy fireplaces.

Why Kids Love it

This is a great home for kids, with plenty of space to play outdoors and a heated pool so they can swim all day long. It’s a short drive from bike rental stores, hiking trails and other weekend adventures: nearby you can try water-skiing, golf and more - just ask the on-site team for help with getting around to the best family-friendly attractions. There’s also a go-cart track and a water park within a half-hour drive. After active days out, kids can relax around the firepit and toast marshmallows under the stars.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Safety notes: there is no gate surrounding the pool. All bedrooms have functioning fireplaces. Guests are welcome to use the tennis courts but you’ll need to bring your own racquets and balls. Supermarket costs are not covered, though the staff can arrange to do the shopping for you. There are 3 staff members on site for help with cooking, cleaning or any other services you require. House-trained pets are welcome on request, with a cleaning deposit. Use of the exterior hot tub is on request - please let the staff know so they can arrange heating (minimum of 5 hours to prepare).

About the Location

The house is located in a very secure and private area of Valle de Bravo, around 2 hours from Mexico City. This beautiful forest area is 10 minutes from Avandaro Country Club and surrounded by nature and green scenery. It’s under 10 minutes’ drive from the picturesque Cascada Velo de Novia waterfall and park, and 20 minutes’ drive from the walking trails around the Valle de Bravo lake. Downtown Valle de Bravo (half an hour’s drive) offers local restaurants, street markets and other amenities. Mexico City International Airport is around 2.5 hours away by car.

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in the main building, as well as a separate 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom bungalow. There are multiple living areas downstairs to relax, as well as a separate kitchen with a breakfast bar and dining room. There are 4 kingsize bedrooms and a fifth bedroom with 2 double beds, all with ensuite bathrooms. The primary bedroom and double beds room are on the second floor, the rest are on the ground floor. Outside, there’s the fully-serviced heated pool, lots of different seating and dining areas, tennis court, fire pit and exterior hot tub.

Style Notes

Mexican country house. This large property blends traditional country house elements with a modern style, to create a cozy yet contemporary vacation spot. The plentiful outdoor spaces (set over 5000 sqm) and working chimneys add to the rural, authentic feel, while luxurious tiled floors and modern bathrooms feel sleek and stylish. We love the wooden ceilings, the sweeping curved iron staircase and the beautifully large windows, opening up panoramic views and framing picturesque scenes of the gardens.

Mexico City and Surrounds, Mexico

Ancient civilizations and modern-day marvels

Mexico City is crammed with things to do with the kids, with parks, public spaces, museums and ancient history to amaze and enthral them, even before you get to hot chocolate and churros. Get to Teotihuacán early and climb its sun and moon pyramids before the crowds get there; visit the outstanding National Museum of Anthropology to get a deeper view on Aztec culture, and don’t miss Xochimilco, the floating gardens of Mexico City, where mariachi bands play on boats and food boats sell empanadas. Mega playground Kidzania, and the Papalote Museo del Nino, where kids can learn about eco-friendly living and step inside a giant rainforest tree, are just a couple of the other child-focused places to play and learn in the city.
