Perks for the Parents

This compact apartment is in a fascinating family-friendly part of Milan with parks and beautiful skyscrapers a short walk away, and is equipped with everything you need for a stay in the city. The brand new apartment is on one of the most characteristic street of the Isola Area, just 5 minutes walk from Garibaldi metro and train station. Kids can sleep and play in the mezzanine level, while parents can sleep on the very comfortable sofa bed downstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and the host will happily offer suggestions and addresses to help make your stay an extraordinary family experience.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love the mezzanine level and the books and toys they will find, especially if they are under 10 years old. Please let the hosts know the age of your kids so they can provide suitable toys and books for them. Kids equipment provided includes: high chair, changing area, baby bath, baby crib. The apartment is quiet so children should sleep well.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Second floor apartment with no elevator. The residence is quiet. The mezzanine level is child-safe but note that it is accessed by a ladder and has a rail that can be climbed so it may be better for older children. The host can provide a trustworthy babysitter (used for her own children) for parents wanting a night out. Free WiFi included. The metro station Garibaldi (green line) is just 50m away and offers direct connection to all major points of the city. There are supermarkets very close to the house.

About the Location

Isola, just to the north of the city center, is a great area for families. There are plenty of families with young children around and a lot of parks where children can play. Tourist attractions nearby include the Bosco Verticale, recently named the most beautiful skyscraper in the world, Unicredit Tower, Piazza Gae Aulenti and Corso Como, for shopping. Parco Sempione and Porta Venezia Gardens are a 15-minute walk. The area is extremely lively with plenty of good restaurants, bars and nice shops. The neighborhood market (Tuesday and Saturday morning) is also a great place to visit. It is 45 minutes from Malpensa Airport and 25 minutes from Linate Airport.

Accommodation Details

This second floor apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is laid out with a main level and a mezzanine level with a bedroom. There is a kitchen, bathroom with shower and living area with double sofa bed. The apartment overlooks a courtyard.

Style Notes

Bright, sophisticated and charming. The white walls reflect the light and there are playful touches. The mezzanine level is great fun. It is in a typical “casa di ringhiera” (old style Milanese house) with a lively courtyard where you can find a contemporary art gallery, a vintage workshop and a musical instruments workshop.

I used to travel a lot before having 2 beautiful kids and what I loved most was meeting new people and experience new cultures. Now, in the meantime I wait the kids to grow up a bit to return to travel "seriously", I would be very happy to host different cultures at my places and even better international families with kids. I know how much difficult it is when you travel with kids, that's why I promise to do my best to give everything you may need to make your kids feel at home even if they are miles away.

Milan, Italy

Fashion, design, finance and fun

Milan is Italy’s center of fashion, design and finance, but that doesn’t mean it has limited kid-appeal. Along with gardens with carnival rides and local playgrounds to explore, there are dinosaur skeletons at the city’s natural history museum and towering replicas, plus a zoo, at the Prehistoric Park on the edge of the city. Medieval castle Castello Sforzesco is a great stop for fairytale fans, and kids will find the city’s gelateria irresistible. Seeking out a favorite flavor and the best ice creamery in town is as good a mission as any in the fashion capital.

It was wonderful to stay at the heart of Isola, in this charming, cozy, well-equipped apartment. The kids loved it. It really felt like our home away from home, except that at home we wouldn't even dream of having the abundance of countless charming, kids-friendly restaurants just a few steps away like we had at Isola. The wonderful park in front of the Bosco Verticale and the sprinklers of Piazza Gae Aulenti that turn into a splash park for kids on hot days, all walking distance, was quite special as well. Valentina was the perfect host. I highly recommend this place.
