Perks for the Parents

A centrally located apartment in the new city center of Milan, surrounded by amazing new architecture to contrast with the historic buildings of the city. It sleeps 4 + 1. The neighborhood is vibrant with lots of options for cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. (Check out Eataly, the best food emporium, just 2 minutes’ walk). Despite this super central location, the property is quiet and relaxing, with no outside noise to disturb your peace as it’s located inside a courtyard, with a kids playing area outside to keep little ones entertained.

Why Kids Love it

The building has a private kids playground, with balls and a basketball court. There’s also a public park nearby: BAM Tree Library Milan. For older kids and teens, the location is great - this area has the coolest shops in Milan. The apartment has plenty of toys and kids amenities, as well as a fun sailing net hammock in the bedroom. The TV is set up with Netflix and Prime and the hosts can offer their own bikes (and a tandem bike) for families to use during the stay.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. The property sleeps a maximum of 5 but it’s ideally best suited to families of 4. The kids bed is on a mezzanine level, accessible via steps and protected by a rail - it may not be suitable for very young children. The hosts can also provide a camp bed for toddlers as well as a high chair. The host family have a cat who lives here so those with allergies should be aware. The cat loves cuddles so guests are welcome to stay with him, but he can also be removed from the apartment if guests would prefer not to look after him.

About the Location

The apartment is located just 5 minutes’ walk from Garibaldi station, which connects directly with Malpensa airport. It’s located between the Brera and Isola districts, two of the most interesting areas in Milan. It’s just a few steps from the Piazza Gae Aulenti - a modern take on the traditional Italian piazza - as well as the picturesque Corso Como. It’s 15 minutes’ by metro to the Zone 1 neighborhood, where you can visit the GAM gallery of modern art and the city’s aquarium, as well as a whole host of tourist attractions.

Accommodation Details

The apartment with 120sqm, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a double bed and beautiful balcony doors, while the second kids room has 3 single beds: 2 are located on a raised mezzanine level and the third is on floor level. The open plan living space features a lounge area, dining table and kitchen space, all with beautiful views from the large windows.

Style Notes

The property has been renovated by the hosts with lots of passion and love. You can still see the traditional details - parquet flooring, shuttered windows and high ceilings - as well as the contemporary design updates, such as colorful modern art prints, which add flair and character. We love the traditional long windows, the crittall-style screen in the living area and the built-in storage for children’s items in the bedrooms.

I used to travel a lot before having 2 beautiful kids and what I loved most was meeting new people and experience new cultures. Now, in the meantime I wait the kids to grow up a bit to return to travel "seriously", I would be very happy to host different cultures at my places and even better international families with kids. I know how much difficult it is when you travel with kids, that's why I promise to do my best to give everything you may need to make your kids feel at home even if they are miles away.

Milan, Italy

Fashion, design, finance and fun

Milan is Italy’s center of fashion, design and finance, but that doesn’t mean it has limited kid-appeal. Along with gardens with carnival rides and local playgrounds to explore, there are dinosaur skeletons at the city’s natural history museum and towering replicas, plus a zoo, at the Prehistoric Park on the edge of the city. Medieval castle Castello Sforzesco is a great stop for fairytale fans, and kids will find the city’s gelateria irresistible. Seeking out a favorite flavor and the best ice creamery in town is as good a mission as any in the fashion capital.
