Perks for the Parents

This bright family home with a hot tub sleeps up to 8 + 1 and is a block away from a fabulous playground and open field with basketball and tennis courts. Well set up for a family stay, it has views over the city and an indoor-outdoor layout. In a great location to explore the south side of the city, nearby attractions include Mount Davidson Park, packed with beautiful eucalyptus trees, and gourmet Tower Market, one of the city’s finest. This is a hilly and leafy slice of San Fran - and relatively tourist free.

Why Kids Love it

Packed with toys and sporting equipment, including basketball hoops for tweens and teens, kids will love this home. There are separate living rooms on each floor, meaning no arguing over the TV channels. There are also plenty of books, puzzles, stuffed animals, board games and art supplies.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. A baby gate and high chair are available upon request. There are extra car seats and boosters, plus driveway and street parking. The garage currently has a ping pong table in it, so no room for a car. The house is largely kid-friendly, although the back yard, steps and hot tub are areas where supervision may be required.

About the Location

The house is in an interesting family-friendly neighbourhood of Miraloma Park, between Glen Park and West Portal. It is a great location to access the south of the city, and also to hop on the highway to get downtown. There are 2 main bus lines that can take you to either the BART or MUNI train lines, which access the airport. The BART is a 20-minute walk. SFO is a 20-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 2-story detached family home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It has a large open-plan kitchen with seating for 4, plus spacious living room. The house sleeps 6 across 1 kingsize and 1 queensize bed and 2 single twins, but 2 more people can sleep on air beds if needed. There is a crib for 1 baby. On the main level is the ensuite master bedroom plus 1 other bedroom (a further bedroom is not available for rent). The lower level also boasts 2 bedrooms, including a second master with access to the backyard and hot tub. Each level has 2 bathrooms. The main level balcony offers access to the backyard. There is a smart flatscreen 4G TV in main room, and another flatscreen TV in lower level family room.

Style Notes

Modern family. This is a modern home, completely renovated in 2015. A sleek polished marble island is the stand out feature of the kitchen; the contemporary layout and indoor-outdoor living spaces make it ideal for a family. We love the spacious bedrooms, the cozy nooks and the backyard play space with basketball hoop.

The highest point in the city

This central neighborhood between Twin Peaks, Sunnyside and Glen Park is quiet and family friendly, and 20 minutes from just about anywhere you could want to be in the city. Visit Tower Market for fresh veggies, drop into great bakeries and coffee shops, play in two neighborhood parks or hike Mount Davidson’s trails.
