Perks for the Parents

This outstanding villa with a pool in the southeast of Mykonos is serenity itself, with spacious terraces, interior-designed rooms and perfect views of the sea. Everything has been carefully designed to promote relaxation: lying in the pool between the endless blue of the Aegean Sea and the sky cannot be beaten. The spacious area around the pool is the perfect setting for private sunbathing and relaxation. The main house, decorated by its interior designer owner, has 3 bedrooms with double beds, all with air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms with spacious showers, while a pool house has a further double bedroom.

Why Kids Love it

The house is a short drive from Tigani Beach and has a fantastic infinity pool with sea views. There is space to run and play on the terrace around the property in shade or sun. Six of the island’s other major beaches are a 5-minute drive away, including Lia beach, a particularly family-oriented spot. The living room includes a TV. Three bedrooms are in the main house and there is another bedroom in the pool house, which may suit older children or teenagers. Sit on the terrace and watch boats far out in the Aegean Sea, or swing in hammocks in the sea breeze.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. Note that there are some rugged, rocky areas and outside steps; the bathrooms have showers and there are some areas where toddlers may struggle. The pool is not gated. We would recommend this property for those with children over 6, or babes in arms. Two cribs are available. The house looks east over Tragonisi island, Ikaria, Naxos, Paros and Antiparos, and is 12km from Mykonos town, 800m from Tigani beach and 5km from local bars. There are shops and restaurants a 4.5km drive away in Anomera Village; car rental is essential.

About the Location

The villa is in southeastern Mykonos, around 25 minutes from the port in Mykonos and a little less from the airport, in the Tigani area. It is in a quiet, luxurious and private space on the island, not overlooked or overlooking any other properties, walking distance from Tigani beach. In the summer, the island is accessible by international flights and ferries; outside peak season, flights run from Athens to Mykonos taking around 25 minutes. The villa is away from the island’s nightlife in a secluded spot 5 minutes from Anomera with its restaurants and tavernas, markets, grocery stores and bakeries.

Accommodation Details

This 4-bedroom house is set up with 3 bedrooms in the main house and a further bedroom in the pool house. The main house has a cozy living room with TV and fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen with an extra old-fashioned Greek oven. A great outside dining area with a large table and very comfortable sitting provides the perfect spot for delicious lunches and dinners with family and friends. All bedrooms have a double bed, air conditioning and an ensuite shower bathroom.

Style Notes

Modern rustic. Authentic elements of Myconian architecture are weaved with modern luxury and the strong blue colors of the sea and sky to create a truly unique place to stay. The owner describes the property as a luxurious peasant house, created to allow for special moments, perfect views, absolute privacy and beautiful architecture. We love the shaded terraces and outdoor lounges, the rustic stone walls and the wood beamed ceilings.

Wonderful in every way.

Mykonos, Greek Islands

Windmills, yacht tours and beaches

This arid, sunny Cyclades island, 25 minutes by plane from Athens, is known for its nightlife and its cosmopolitan scene. But insiders know that there’s more to the island than its reputation suggests. With sandy beaches, 16th Century windmills and sensational sunsets, it’s got typical Greek appeal. Enjoy geckos scaling the walls, sunset cocktails, black olives in Greek salads and days spent at the beach.
