Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of space for kids, both indoor and outdoor. It has a courtyard garden with an in-ground trampoline and swing for the kids, as well as a ping pong table. The unique historic nature of Naarden will appeal to children - with a moat and fortified walls around it plus a museum all about the fortress. The family hosts offer bikes to borrow and there is plenty to explore nearby, including forests and playgrounds. There are plenty of games in the house which the kids can use too.

We are Aranka, Pieter-Bas, Elise (11 y/o) and Thomas (9 y/o), a Dutch family of 4 living in the Great Amsterdam area of the Netherlands. We love travelling and have been doing this for the last 20 years in all continents of the world. Obviously, being on holiday with kids is different than backpacking so we loved the Kid & Coe concept from the beginning. Since then, we only have good experiences and bringing great memories back home over and over again. With love, from Naarden / NL.

Naarden, Outside Amsterdam

Star-shaped and surrounded by water

This north Holland town, 40 minutes east of Amsterdam, is like nowhere you’ve ever been before. Fully fortified, it is built in the shape of a star, with walls and a moat around it. Explore its heritage at the Fortress Museum, stroll through the streets to discover a 14th century church or take a boat trip around the fortifications to admire them up close.
