The high-tech kitchen has a wine fridge and an instant boiling tap for easy morning coffees and laid-back evening drinks. For guests wanting a break from cooking, there’s an abundance of dining options on the doorstep from pizza, sushi and Thai to roasts in the local pub. Several offer takeaway options so parents can enjoy the local foodie scene without hiring a babysitter.
Why Kids Love it
Kids will love the large backyard with a Springfree trampoline and plenty of room for ball games and picnics. The residence is all on one level so ideal for toddlers and has toys, games and books for all ages. There’s a fun living room with a spacious corner sofa and a large flatscreen TV with Netflix for movie screenings. Bedrooms are spacious and double as additional places to chill or play. A highchair, travel crib and mountain buggy are available on request at no extra charge. For kids with energy to burn Jellie Park is a 5-minute walk away and has plenty to do whatever the weather, with indoor/outdoor swimming pools, hydro slides, a playground and a skate park. The International Antarctic Centre will appeal to mini explorers, a 7-minute drive away

Minimum stay: 2 nights; max stay: 30 nights. The residence is secure and safe with electric gates and is fully fenced. There is a lock box for easy access. There are 2 additional singlesize beds available as well as a travel crib; please let the hosts know at time of booking if you would like these made up. A work chair and desk can be provided on request. Complimentary toiletries are provided. There is secure parking available at the property and free parking on the street. Please note that there are outdoor security cameras on the property. There is a large weber BBQ in the garden. The property has air conditioning and WiFi available throughout. Sorry, no pets.
About the Location
The residence is located in leafy Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island. The local shops are a 5-minute walk away and include a small dairy, pharmacy, dry cleaners, hairdressers and there are a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as a bakery. Takeaway options include pizza, fish n’ chips, sushi, bento, Indian, Chinese and Thai. The residence is 2 minutes’ drive or a 5-minute walk from Jellie Park which has a duck pond, swimming pools, a gym and skate park. For more park fun Hagley Park with its golf club and the Botanical Gardens with a large playground are a 15-minute drive away. Westfield Mall Riccarton offering a large range of boutiques and shops is 15 minutes by car. The closest airport is Christchurch International Airport just 6 minutes’ drive away.
Accommodation Details
The residence has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom over 1 floor. The living areas are largely open plan with a fully-equipped kitchen including Miele appliances, dishwasher, hot water tap, filtered water and coffee maker; a scullery with a washer/dryer; a dining table seating 6; and a snug built-in fireplace with chairs. Through double doors is a further living room with a corner sofa and a TV. The dining area flows onto a fenced deck with alfresco seating and a BBQ area. There are 4 pretty bedrooms – the sunny primary bedroom has a kingsize bed, the second bedroom a queensize, and there are 2 rooms with large singlesize beds. Two additional singlesize beds and a travel crib can be made up on request. Each bedroom has a wardrobe and oil heater for extra warmth. There is 1 family bathroom with a shower and a bathtub and 1 separate powder room for convenience. There is large backyard with a patio, lawned and decked areas and a Springfree trampoline.
