Perks for the Parents

This spacious family home is ideal for a larger group stay, with 4 bedrooms, plenty of space and additional beds to add to allow up to 14 guests to sleep. There is a large back yard; the YMCA is right down the street and First Beach (Easton’s Beach) is a 5-minute walk. Second and Third Beach are a 5-minute drive. The neighbors are friendly and the safe cul-de-sac is home to plenty of other children. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a fun day at the beach. The basement sleeping space is perfect for a nanny or au pair.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for kids under 10 and is a great family space with a living room large enough for wheeled toys. It is a short walk from the beach and local playgrounds and the kids room is bright and colorful. The large backyard has plenty of play spaces, a play structure and a large pool. There are plenty of games and kids toys and sports activities in the home and a theater room. The kids room sleeps up to 6 with 2 bunkbeds, each with a trundle.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. The stairs in the house can be gated on request. The pool is ungated and not heated, but has an electronic cover. The hosts prefer longer-term rentals such as a week or month. There is a large 2 car garage with paddle boards and plenty of outdoor toys. There is also a security system on the house. Bedrooms all have a 60-inch Smart TV and the kids room also has a Xbox gaming system.

About the Location

The residence is a 5-minute drive from Newport or a 45 minute walk to Thames. It is 5 minutes to many local kid-friendly restaurants. The closest airport is the Newport airport which is small but has many connections. The residence is a 35-minute drive from Providence Airport or an hour and a half from Boston Airport. Car hire useful but not essential.

Accommodation Details

This large 3 bedroom house is laid out over 3 floors with a basement. The first level has a kitchen and living space with dining area. The second has a WC and large living area. The third level has 2 ensuite bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and the other a kids bedroom, plus a connecting large balcony with views to the ocean. The top level has the master suite, a large bathroom with spa tub and balcony with ocean views. The basement has a theatre room and can be used as a bedroom with a twin bed and trundle that connects to be a king size bed if desired. The backyard has a large unheated pool, BBQ, large dining table and lounge furniture.

Style Notes

Bright and airy with a nautical, beach house style. Special features include a large chef’s kitchen with a Wolf stove and high end appliances, a cozy living space on the second floor and an expansive master suite on the top floor with views of the ocean. Expect not only to see the waves and water but also Newport’s mansions and cliff walk, and the Pell Bridge. We love the luxury furnishings.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

We love living in NYC but San Diego will always be home. We fell in love with Newport, RI on a family east coast adventure and decided it was a great fit for us for Summer living!!
