Things to know

  • The nearest airport is Tambor Airport, under 10km away. Small planes fly here with Sansa and Nature Air from Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in Alajuela
  • There is free pick-up and delivery to Tambor Airport. A helicopter service can also be arranged
  • The property comes with staff and chef (at extra cost). The kitchen is designed for the chef, but can be used by guests who prefer to self cater
  • Bath and beach towels, linens, hairdryers and complimentary shower accessories provided

Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

My wife and I have lived in Costa Rica for 24 years. We have been renting our beautiful, oceanfront villa, Casa Oceano for the past 14 years, hoping that everyone who has the pleasure of staying with us, enjoys it as much as we do! We want to make sure that each and every guest feels like they are part of our tropical family and that every person in the family experiences the vacation of their dreams. We particularly want to make all children our welcome guests and to insure that we have provided every imaginable amenity, toy, games, etc., to make sure that happens! We invite you to visit us and find out what we think makes a great vacation for everyone in the family! Additionally, we now offer a second beachfront residence located in the Los Delfines gate guarded Golf and Beach Community, about 6 kilometers away on the calmer Bay of Tambor. The Pacific coast of Costa Rica is one of the few mysterious Blue Zones in the world, where the locals are known to live active, healthy lives well past 100 years of age. Perhaps living on the most sought-after beach destination in the country, experiencing some of the best surfing in the world, and adopting the local laid-back bohemian attitude has something to do with it. Kids will love riding to the Montezuma waterfalls on horseback to explore natural swimming holes and speed themselves over the crystal clear water on classic rope swings.

Hansel and Carlos met the 10 of us (5 adults and 5 kids including a 3yo) at the Tambor airport and promptly loaded all of our luggage and our travel-weary selves into two vans and took us Casa Oceano. At the house, we met Sylvia (who my family still thinks about daily!) who promptly provided us with fresh pina coladas - including virgin cocktails for the kiddos! Sylvia prepared all of our meals with the help of her son, Esteban. We were reluctant to purchase the meal plan, but man, oh man - it was so worth it. That was a vacation in itself, and the food was amazing! We celebrated two birthdays and a 50th anniversary while we were there, and Sylvia pulled out all of the stops each night! Bonnie kept the house immaculate and added all of the special touches that you could hope for, but you never knew you even wanted! Our laundry was wash and folded and on our beds each and every day (what a treat!). Hansel arranged all of our excursions for us and was so very helpful with any questions we had. The beach is semi-private. There were never more than four other people on the beach the entire time we were there - it was perfect. When you finish with the beach (watch out for that riptide - it's real!), the pool is a perfect way to relax in the afternoon before Sylvia brings out the afternoon snack at 4pm! Yum! Do yourself a favor, relax and enjoy your life for a while at Casa Oceano.
