There’s the hot tub for a soak and a small sauna too for a deep relaxation.

Why Kids Love it

You’ll find toys and books for kids 10 and under at the house. There’s also a Graco pack ‘n’ play and high chairs. Kids can play downstairs while parents hang out upstairs – the TV is also downstairs if kids want have their own movie night. The waves at the beach are calm and suited for small children. Older kids will enjoy fishing and exploring the coastline. Local, kid-friendly attractions include The Big Duck, Splish Splash Water Park, The Railroad Museum of Long Island and the Long Island Science Center.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 30 days in summer months. There is air conditioning in the master bedroom and the great room (living room), the other bedrooms do not have air conditioning. Safety notes: there are stair gates at the top and bottom of the interior stairs, and on the 2nd-floor deck. Please note that some of the outdoor terrain is steep and children must be accompanied when playing outside or walking to the beach. There is a hot tub, and the cover should remain on when adults are not using it. No pets are allowed; the hosts are allergic. A car is recommended for getting around and exploring the area. There is ample parking at the house. The property is gated from the already quiet cul-de-sac, down a long private driveway.

About the Location

It’s 90 minutes from NYC, depending on traffic and the Jitney and train stop are just a 10-minute drive away. The residence is positioned perfectly for exploring both the North Fork hamlets and farms, as well as the South Fork Atlantic Ocean. The Long Island Aquarium is 10 minutes away with one of the largest coral reef display tanks in the US. Kid-friendly farms are just 5 minutes away and you’ll be walking distance to local farm stand.

Style Notes

Octagonal beach house beauty. This fascinating 1970s house is hidden among the trees with direct beach access and spectacular water views. The great room is wonderfully open plan with soaring 7 m ceilings and a conversation pit with an impressive stone fireplace. Access to the deck is from here where you can enjoy a glass or two while enjoying the sunsets. The hot tub is private and perched above the beach. We love the unusual architecture, the spacious outdoor space and the location, surrounded by wildlife and a naturalist’s haven.
