Style Notes

California style. Built in the 1940's, this family heirloom home is sure to fulfill your California needs. A mid-century, spanish vibe colors the home with eclectic decor. The homeowner makes furniture and ceramics and their pieces are scattered throughout the home, including the kitchen island, master bedroom bed, console, dinner table, and kids table to name a few. We love the bohemian, sunny and retro style throughout.

My husband Chris and I have two babygirls: Giavanni, and Copen. We have a family business we run together, and we love to travel.

North Hollywood, Los Angeles

The family-friendly culture hub

Home to the NoHo arts district, North Hollywood is a go-to hub for cultural events and - note - not next door to Hollywood itself (there's a mountain range between them). Close to Burbank and Van Nuys, the area is family-friendly with a little bit of everything for all ages. Recreation centers, parks and playgrounds abound; don't miss free monthly stargazing sessions in nearby Burbank courtesy of Sidewalk Astronomers, ideal for age 3 and up.

I cannot believe it took me all this time to write a review... Better late than never, as they say. Our family had the absolute best time at the Cumpston Street Residence. Amber and Chris were the warmest, most welcoming hosts and made us feel at home right away. The house was a dream -- comfortable, beautifully decorated (mostly with their own handmade furniture!) and lots of natural light! Though it's in a central location, we felt completely secluded -- a hidden oasis that's walking distance from restaurants, movie theater and more. The house is also loaded with toys and all kids necessities -- perfect for families wanting to travel light. The garden is absolutely stunning, complete with gorgeous succulents, a dining table, a lounging area, a huge pool and... a hidden gem for kids (seriously, I can't quite put into words how excited my kids were when we explored the backyard for the first time). We will forever cherish our memories there -- not only was it our first getaway since the beginning of the pandemic, it was also a much needed return to where we used to live, where my husband met. It's also where my oldest son Arthur learned how to swim, and where I learned the butterfly stroke! We all got some serious bonding time. It was truly magical and the getaway we, as a family, needed. All in all, it was a wonderful, relaxing experience, and we left feeling recharged, with our hearts full, remembering how much we love and miss California. Amber and Chris, thank. you for your utmost hospitality and for offering us a home away from home. We hope to be back again soon (and maybe even every year). <3

we LOVED staying at the Earls and can't wait to go back. The home was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed for traveling with a toddler. The home has a "magical" feel and is great for exploring with little ones. The kitchen was stocked and had everything we needed for cooking--and most importantly morning coffee. Beds were super comfortable and our daughter loved the nursery. Thank you Amber for an awesome stay.

The Cumpston Street Residence is a beautiful retreat in the middle of a busy city. Secluded, and yet also convenient to so many great attractions! We loved the gorgeous backyard - succulents, citrus trees, and so much green! The interior was minimally, and beautifully decorated. So calm and cool. Everything was comfortable. Our son loved how many great children's toys there were - blocks, easels, pretend sushi-making sets, Play-Doh, etc. The owners were very welcoming and gave us a list of great restaurant recommendations and kid friendly sites. There's even a hidden speakeasy on the property that they challenged us to find! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a homey space in a big city! Plus parking!
