Perks for the Parents

An elegant and luxurious home with a private garden in Notting Hill, just 4 minutes’ walk from the tube. It sleeps up to 6. The home boasts a large family dining area (seating 8 people) with a generous living space opening out to a garden area with a dining table and benches - perfect for your morning coffee or an easy family dinner. The primary bedroom has air conditioning plus a super kingsize bed of the highest quality to ensure a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. There’s also an office area for those who need to work remotely during the stay.

Why Kids Love it

The host does not provide toys or books for younger children, but there is space for families to enjoy the open plan living areas downstairs with easy access to a private garden so little ones can play outside under watchful eyes of parents. The area is fantastic for families, with Kensington Memorial Park and Playground (which has a water play area in summer) just a few minutes away on foot and a covered skate park 10 minutes away under the Westway. Older kids and teens will love exploring quirky Portobello Market, filled with pop-up clothing stalls, foodie spots and a vibrant street culture.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 6 nights. Safety notes: the house is set over 4 floors with no stair gates so young children may need supervision. The living room has white sofas and premium interiors, so the house is more suitable for families with older children or teenagers. AC is available in the primary bedroom only. The fourth bedroom is used for host storage but can be made available for longer stays on request. The house has an easy-to-use alarm system and CCTV for added security. Parking is available on the street and there are plenty of parking meters nearby but car rental is not essential in this area.

About the Location

The house is located in Notting Hill in West London. It’s 4 minutes’ walk to Ladbroke Grove tube station for easy access around the city (around 20 minutes into Soho). It’s walkable to Portobello Road Market (for antiques, clothes, food and pop-ups) as well as Westbourne Grove, where you’ll find some of the best neighbourhood restaurants in London and exclusive shopping boutiques. It’s half an hour’s walk to Holland Park, where you can visit The Design Museum and the west side of Hyde Park, for Kensington Palace and the Princess Diana Memorial Playground. Paddington Station is 10 minutes away by tube for trains to Heathrow (less than 1 hour away).

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. This newly-refurbished house features a large open plan kitchen and living room on the lower ground floor, opening out to a garden through glass doors. A second living room and library seating area are situated at the front on the entrance level. Upstairs, a spacious primary bedroom boasts tall ceilings with a beautiful ensuite bathroom with large bathtub, double basin and shower. On the top floor, there are 2 more bedrooms with kingsize beds, which share a bathroom. A final double bedroom, currently used for storage, can be available on request for longer stays. Both bathrooms have baths and showers.

Style Notes

Traditional Townhouse. The decor is newly refurbished, elegant using luxury fabrics. Print and pattern textiles add warmth to a neutral palette, with playful pops of color in the bathrooms and the bedrooms. We love the beautiful marble fireplace in the living room, the plaster-toned blush of the bathroom and the contemporary crittal-style windows in the kitchen.

Notting Hill, London

Movie stars, museums and the market

This pretty, arty and desirable area of West London has characterful streets of Georgian and Victorian houses, the vibrant Portobello Market on a Saturday and easy access to the rest the city. Close to Kensington Garden and Palace, it has Gloucester Road’s blockbuster museums on the doorstep, including the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum. And - tell the kids - it’s also the area that Paddington Bear calls home.
