The St Charles Square Residence
Perks for the Parents
A cute duplex home with original features and a patio, close to London’s popular Notting Hill neighborhood. It sleeps 4. Parents will love the garden patio, a rare bonus in this area, where you can sit and relax after your days adventures exploring the city. It’s an easy walk to nearby parks and playgrounds, and the heart of Notting Hill with its world-class restaurants, quirky stores and contemporary health food stores, is just a stroll away.
Why Kids Love it
While there are no toys or books for little ones, it’s just 5 minutes’ walk from a park with a water play area and sports courts. For older kids and teens, there’s a skate park and a climbing wall center nearby (both 10 minutes’ walk). This is known as a family-friendly area, with lots of family-friendly casual eateries for hassle-free mealtimes. Kids of all ages will love Hyde Park (10 minutes’ drive) for the Princess Diana Memorial Playground, horseriding and open water swimming on the Serpentine.
Things to Know
No smoking, pets or parties. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which must be signed and submitted. This home is in a wonderfully family-friendly location, but it's also opposite a school. Whilst weekends are fine, this tends to make the area a bit busier on weekdays, at drop off and pick up time. The home is split over a raised ground and lower ground floor, so there are a few steps involved. There are three portable desk fans available to help keep you cool but no air conditioning.
About the Location
The duplex is located in Notting Hill, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Ladbroke Grove subway station. It’s 15 minutes’ walk to the famous Portobello Road, known for its street markets, unique eateries, beautiful colorful homes and the scenes of the famous film, Notting Hill. It’s around 10 minutes’ drive to Hyde Park and Mayfair, or half an hour to Soho, West End and the South Bank. Heathrow airport is around 1 hour away by car or train.
Accommodation Details
The property has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, set over 2 floors. On the ground level, there’s a living room, dining room (via some split level steps) and kitchen. On the lower ground floor, you’ll find the primary bedroom, with a kingsize bed and luxury free-standing bathtub. The second bedroom has a single trundle bed with an additional pull-out single bed underneath (plus access to the garden via French doors). The bathroom has a separate bathtub and walk-in shower.
Style Notes
Bold and beautiful. The living areas are decorated in rich deep hues, such as crimson pink and deep purple and the lounge and a flat-out red in the kitchen. Velvet textures and vivid modern artwork add character, while original architectural details are charming. We love the quaint cottage-style window overlooking the patio garden, the bright artwork in the dining room and that fabulous free-standing bathtub.

Notting Hill, London
Movie stars, museums and the market
This pretty, arty and desirable area of West London has characterful streets of Georgian and Victorian houses, the vibrant Portobello Market on a Saturday and easy access to the rest the city. Close to Kensington Garden and Palace, it has Gloucester Road’s blockbuster museums on the doorstep, including the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum. And - tell the kids - it’s also the area that Paddington Bear calls home.
