Perks for the Parents

A cute and classic mews house on a notable cobbled side street in Notting Hill, close to endless cafes, restaurants and shops. It sleeps 6. Grown-ups will love being in this vibrant, central part of town, close to both the bustling markets of Portbello Road as well as the exclusive boutiques of Westbourne Grove. Despite its compact size, it has a surprisingly private terrace - perfect for your morning coffee or an evening drink as you relax and plan your next day’s activities.

Why Kids Love it

The interiors feel fun and colorful here, and although there are no books or toys for little ones, you'll find flexible bedroom options and it’s a safe side street with little through traffic, so they’ll feel at ease exploring the area on foot. Younger kids will recognise many of the surrounding areas from the Paddington movie, while teens will love being close to White City, where they can explore Westfield mall and movie theater, bowling alley and more. All ages will love exploring the green spaces of Hyde Park or Holland Park, both less than half an hour away on foot or a quick bus ride.

About the Location

The property is a quintessential London mews house in Notting Hill - movie fans will notice that this pretty cobbled street was used in the movie Love Actually. This bohemian part of the capital is famous for its annual summer carnival, the Portobello Road street market, artisan shops, and some of the best restaurants in the city. It’s within walking distance of Hyde Park and set between Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove tube stations.

Accommodation Details

The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. The entrance leads you into the living room, brightly lit from the large windows. The adjacent kitchen is fitted with the latest gadgets and appliances, with a spacious dining table as the focal point. The upper 2 levels are home to the bedrooms: the primary bedroom is located on the third floor, boasting a super kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom. Meanwhile the 2 guest rooms are on the next level down. The second sitting room cleverly doubles up as a guest bedroom with a Murphy bed that fits back into the wall during the day. The second bedroom has a comfortable single bed and trundle that’s ideal for kids. Between the 2 rooms nestles a nook with an office space.

Style Notes

Modern mews. The backbone of the house is historic and classic, but the hosts have updated the interiors with contemporary decor, finished to the highest standard. Bright artwork adorns the walls and strong paint toones add depth to the welcoming color palette. We love the bathrooms here, fitted with bold colorful tiles to create a real statement, as well as the botanical print wallpaper and the clever built-in bookcase in the stairwell.

Notting Hill, London

Movie stars, museums and the market

This pretty, arty and desirable area of West London has characterful streets of Georgian and Victorian houses, the vibrant Portobello Market on a Saturday and easy access to the rest the city. Close to Kensington Garden and Palace, it has Gloucester Road’s blockbuster museums on the doorstep, including the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum. And - tell the kids - it’s also the area that Paddington Bear calls home.
