The house comes with a full kitchen, family-sized dining area and very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The infinity-edged private swimming pool is off the back porch. It is nestled on a farm and hidden amidst pastures, fruit trees, and lush foliage on the edge of dramatic oceanfront cliffs in a rural setting. Also included is a housekeeper, cook and gardener. Groceries can be ordered by phone or email to be delivered.
Why Kids Love it
Great for kids of all ages. The nearby cove is perfect for kids to play in the sand and swim while parents can relax and watch them. If your kids wake up early - it is the perfect opportunity to take a walk outside the gate and watch the horses coming in from pasture, or take an evening stroll and enjoy watching them go out to pasture. Yard space for football, soccer and sports, plus a polo field to play on and a swing set for younger kids. A tour company on the property can arrange ATC tours, zip lining, horseback riding and swim tours.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 4 nights. Rates listed are for the whole property (5 bedrooms); discounts are available for a smaller group booking 3 or 4 bedrooms prorated by rooms being used. Please contact the host for further pricing details. There are a lot of open areas, but it is still very child friendly. The pool is open but can be enclosed with a safety fence. Chukka Caribbean Adventures is on the same property so both parents and kids can participate in the adventurous tours that they have to offer, at a 25% discount. There are 3 resident dogs (Charlie, Madonna and Mr. Bojangles) who guard the house at night but will respect your space. Included in the rate are friendly and attentive staff, a housekeeper, gardener and cook, who can accompany you to the grocery, selecting the best items at local markets or prepare the food you purchase. Netflix is on offer; there is WiFi but no cable TV. Airport transfers can be arranged along with local car trips. On site at the farm are gift shops, snack bar and bar. A service can be hired to deliver a crib and baby toys to the house on request.
About the Location
The house sits on a large lawn area shared with 6 other privately-owned villas, 15 minutes from Ochos Rios, 5 minutes from Runaway Bay and 1 hour from the nearest airport. You may wake up to the sound of roosters, can listen to the crickets and frogs songs at night or go for a morning and evening walk around the polo field and watch the horses returning home or going to pasture. The cliffs at Chukka Cove are dramatic and extensive. On calm days, a ladder takes you into the cool clear waters. On the adjoining villa property is a small sandy cove, safe and perfect for young children to swim and play. On days when the sea swells, a 2-minute walk along the edge of the polo field takes you to Chukka Bay, a sheltered bay where the waters are always calm and cliff jumping, swimming and snorkeling are the order of the day.
Accommodation Details
This is an extensive 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, sitting room, ensuite bathroom and outdoor shower plus ocean views. A second bedroom has two queen size beds, and 2 bedrooms can be made up as a kingsize bed or 2 twin beds. The 5th bedroom has a king size bed and opens onto a terrace leading to the pool. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. There are 2 further living rooms, one between 2 open courtyards inside. There is also a powder room, laundry, dining room and covered garage plus a TV room and an adjoining recreational room with exercise equipment (elliptical machine and free weights) and a kiddies play room. The kitchen opens right into breakfast nook and both enjoy views of the front gardens and the indoor orchid courtyard. The infinity edge beach entry pool is just off the back porch.
Style Notes
This 6,600 sq ft oceanfront villa with an infinity edge private pool is glamorous and luxurious. The 3 indoor courtyards bring nature in. Windows offer fabulous ocean views. There is a mix of farm house, great house, Caribbean villa and modern luxury in the design. We love the hardwood floors, the tropical plants and the soft furnishings, including cowskin rugs and white linens.
