Why Kids Love it

The property is great for kids - not only does it have a pool, but it’s also a unique building that will provide plenty of inspiration for kids who like to draw, and it is full of kids equipment including cribs, high chairs, crockery, cutlery, potties, books and toys. Outdoor toys include a trampoline, table tennis table, basketball, pool toys and numerous ride-on toddler toys. The nearby area is great with kids - it’s just a 5-minute drive to 2 local towns where you can test out the best local gelato, and 10km from the nearest beach.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The host requires a damage deposit of 30% of the total cost of the booking sent to them separately. Please contact the host for full information before submitting a booking request. Note that the pool is unheated and ungated but is set away from the house. There may be some rural quirks: mobile/cellphone reception may be patchy, depending on operator, and there are very occasional electricity outages. Babysitting, a mid stay cleaning, catering and yoga sessions are available for an additional fee. Guests receive a welcome hamper on arrival with beer, prosecco and local artisanal meats and cheeses. There is a TV, iPod loaded with music, Teac music system and movies provided. All bedrooms accommodate extra beds and cribs and all have air conditioning.

About the Location

The residence is 5 minutes from Ostuni in the Puglian countryside, surrounded by orchards. It is a similar distance from Ceglie Messapica, which along with Ostuni is a classic Puglian towns with bars, shops, ice cream parlors and restaurants. The Adriatic Sea and its sandy beaches are 10 km away; beaches on the opposite coast are 30 km away. The property is 40 minutes from Brindisi airport and 1 hour 15 minutes from Bari airport. We would recommend car hire for this residence; there is off street parking at the property.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom property is set inside a classic Puglian trullo. It includes 3 double bedrooms, furnished with modern luxury fittings and all with double beds. One can be made up with twin beds as needed. There are 2 wet room bathrooms with modern power showers and fluffy towels. The property also has a living room with TV and comfortable sofas, a fully-equipped family kitchen with dining table, and a snug sitting room with ancient arches, vintage Danish sofas, fireplace and Pac Man wall art. The large patio terrace has an alfresco eating area, barbecue and hammocks in the garden, and there is a shaded dining area with comfortable sofa outside, plus a private unheated pool with small kids pool/jacuzzi.

Style Notes

Classic Puglia. There is no better place to stay than your own trullo while staying in Puglia. This historic and unique residence has a fully remodelled contemporary interior and has a gorgeous setting surrounded by wildflower meadows and fruit trees. Architectural features include barrel vaulted ceilings and arched doorways, while modern design includes Sputnik lights and Basher art, mid-Century design and Kartell chairs. For added comfort, all the beds have Egyptian cotton sheets. We love the exposed white stone walls, the quirky and colorful mismatched chairs around the dining table, and the wonderful outdoor space, with Penguin book design deck chairs.

Ostuni, Puglia

The Citta Blanca

This beautiful Baroque town 10km from the Adriatic Coast is surrounded by rural areas and is a hub for the community, with restaurants, bars, markets and pizzerias and stunning white stone churches. Treat the kids to a gelato and explore the meadows of wildflowers, pretty off-the-beaten-track villages and pristine beaches nearby.

Beautiful property, especially the outdoor area. The interior was very clean but well loved and could use a few updates. Pietro was a great help and very responsive to the issues that arose during the stay. We were also very appreciative of the AC in the bedrooms during the August heat.

Really nice house, with a few things that could use a bit of updating (broken chairs by the pool, etc.). We were really grateful for the A/C units in the bedrooms due to this summer's extreme heat. Nice remote location, but still close enough to town for an easy pop in and out.

We had a great two weeks in the Morella Residence. Lovely villa in an old Trullo which has been really well restored and modernised.. It is really nicely fitted out inside and loads of toys, games, films for the kids. Really nice area as well. Lots of places to visit and excellent restaurants that are all very close. Would definitely recommend for a family break.

Simply AMAZING! We came for some much needed R&R, and this place did not disappoint. The accommodation has a very 'funky' appeal. I loved the leather couches and the art work. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to bathrooms, and they were so clean and clearly well maintained. The preloaded iPod and superior sound system was on pretty much all he time. My children loved the pool and the trampoline, and most definitely the basketball hoop! The owners have really thought 'out of the box' when it comes to hospitality, and the small extras, ie prosecco and essential groceries on arrival really took the edge off after an early flight out of London. I really look forward to another visit in the future. Claire

Just a perfect stay. The Villa is lovely and the set up great. There is loads to do in the area and Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica are within a short drive and have all you need including weekend markets, restaurants, supermarkets, ice cream, etc... The villa is superb and has all you need for a young family. Pool, toys, trampoline, outside dining (with highchair), shaded area and also a hard drive with movies and an Ipod full of tunes that can be played via the indoor and outdoor speakers. Wifi works well and the rooms are all spacious with shutters that make it totally dark (which was a plus for our two young children). Cosimo and Mimmo were impeccable at helping and assisting us with queries and advice on the region and overall we had a lovely time. Besides the villa the whole region of Puglia is excellent for sights, beaches, food and wine and if you like fresh produce and lovely warmhearted people then go. For us five stars all round.

Beautiful spot. Perfect setup for two families. Kids loved the pool (and toys) & the outdoor grilling and dining area was a hit with the parents. House was stylish and clean.
