The apartment is perfectly designed for parents with young children or babies, with enough space for kids to sleep separately and plenty of room in the kitchen/living areas for easy family meals. When you’re ready to explore, it’s an easy stroll to family-friendly restaurants, world-famous museums and the city’s beautiful spacious parks.

Why Kids Love it

The property is fully equipped for families, specifically for toddlers and twins! There are baby chairs, books, toys and a very big, sunny, 60 m2 garden with a trampoline. There’s a fun, colorful children’s room with toys and a raised bed, plus a double baby room with 2 cribs, together with 2 high chairs and a changing table. There are a lot of playgrounds in the area around the house and it’s just 5 minutes’ walk to the glorious green Vondelpark, where there is an open air theater, playgrounds, cafes and tennis courts.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The apartment has stairs between floors and split-level steps in the dining area, so toddlers should be supervised. Street parking is available outside the house, but car rental is not essential in this central area. Ask the hosts for local babysitter/nanny recommendations. The airport is 20 minutes by car or 40 minutes by train.

About the Location

The apartment is located in the popular and central Oud-West neighborhood, Amsterdam. It’s close to the Nine Streets (10 minutes’ walk) where you’ll find independent boutique vintage stores and cozy cafes, as well as the museum district and the quiet Helmersbuurt area. It’s a highly walkable location: around the corner there are trendy furniture stores, coffee shops and many restaurants. The closest tram stop is Overtoom (2 minutes’ walk) or there are more transit options from Leidseplein (7 minutes’ walk).

Accommodation Details

The residence has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, set over 2 floors. The ground floor has an open plan kitchen with a dining room and lounge space, separated by glass doors. On the first floor, the primary bedroom has a kingsize bed and a large balcony which is drenched in sunshine all day long. The main children’s bedroom has 1 single raised bed, suitable for kids under 5. There’s also another baby room with 2 cribs plus an additional small single bedroom. The bathroom boasts a bathtub as well as double showers for a luxurious spa-like experience at home.

Style Notes

Historic brownstone. The apartment is full of design features and feels clean, light and contemporary. The building’s historic features are visible in the ensuite glass doors and the stained glass windows in the living room. The natural color palette of beige, black and white feels relaxing and modern - perfect for tired travelers. We love the beautiful black fireplaces, the luxe marble countertops in the kitchen and the period cornicing and doors separating the living and dining areas.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

This area of the city is 10-minutes to the east of downtown and is known for its handsome houses, busy shopping streets and street markets. It's close to the Vondelpark and is a great place for a family, with good restaurants and terraces for people-watching. It's also known for having the highest concentration of coffee bars in the city.
