The Paciano Residence has a concierge service to book all your family activities from cooking school to wine tours. For dinners out, the villa is within walking distance of the traditional Umbrian restaurant Il Casale, serving organic pasta with a big garden where kids can play. Situated on the slopes of Mount Pausillo, you’ll enjoy fabulous sunsets that stretches over Cortona, Lake Trasimeno and Montepulciano.

Why Kids Love it

There are toys and books provided for children, as well as a high chair, baby bath and a crib on request. Kids of all ages will love the big gardens where they can play and the pool for swimming and splashing. The home is safe and very well equipped and is less than 5 minutes’ drive to the village where there is a playground. Also close by is a horse-riding paddock where there are weekly activities including a circus school (book in advance). There are also local tennis lessons available and the opportunity to do a family cooking class at Fontanaro Organic Farm making organic pasta, tagliatelle, ravioli or gnocchi.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 nights. Children should be supervised around the ungated pool and take care on the steps down to the pool. The property does not have a bathtub but a baby bathtub can be provided. Cribs and highchairs for 2 babies are also available. You will be greeted with a welcome bottle of local wine. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms and living room and WiFi throughout. Bed linens, towels, pool towels and kitchen basics (salt, pepper, oil etc) and bathroom essentials are provided. Additional services are available on requests including: car rental, bike rental, a private chef, yoga, massage, cooking school and a babysitter. Parking is available on-site.

About the Location

This villa is situated in the quiet medieval village of Paciano, on the border of Umbria and Tuscany and south of Lake Trasimeno. The village has a supermarket, restaurants, a fortress and many old churches. It comes alive in the summer when there are plenty of festivals and events. Places to visit nearby include beautiful villages, towns and attractions including Cortona (50 minutes), Montepulciano and Val D'Orcia (45-55 mins), Perugia (50 mins), Lake Trasimeno (25 mins). Fly into Aeroporto Internazionale dell'Umbria – Perugia, which is 55 minutes by car or arrive by train at Chiusi (15 mins away) from Rome, Florence, Pisa, Milan and Napoli.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom villa is all on 1 level up one flight of stairs. There is fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining room seating up to 6. All bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom and are: 1 kingsize, 1 full / double and 1 with twin beds. There is also a double sofabed in the entrance room to sleep an additional 2 guests. Outside are pretty Mediterranean gardens, a saltwater private pool with sun loungers, outdoor dining for 10 under a pergola, a sun deck and grill.

Style Notes

Rustic and relaxing. This restored Umbrian villa is pretty with a traditional Tuscan interior of cool terracotta floors and wooden ceiling beams. Green-painted windows open to a view of the soft blues and greens of the stunning local countryside. Décor is elegant with understated colors and an oak gourmet kitchen. The lovely kingsize master bedroom is a detached suite with a private entrance. The host is passionate about the area and is author of the local travel blog tuscanyumbriablog.com. We love the big pool that has a view of the lake and distant hills, the pretty painted wardrobe in the bedroom and authentic ambiance.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
