This private ground floor apartment is set in a boutique estate in Perugia overlooking fields and rolling hills, and includes a lovely garden, a pool, and plenty of treats to help you and your family feel at home. Tailor-made services are available to help with excursions, events and airport transfers. Part of a boutique complex with a shared pool and grounds, it is set on an organic farm with a cooking school and wine tours available. All guests are personally welcomed by the owners and will receive personal attention and care during their stay. When in season, guests may take advantage of free produce (fruit, tomatoes, greens) from the vegetable garden. A library of English language books is provided in each villa, including a selection of art books, guides, maps, brochures and tourist information.

Why Kids Love it

Toys are provided for children of all ages. Young children may enjoy the swimming pool; the village nearby has weekly family classes including pottery and daily cookery classes. There is also a playground with a swing under 5 minutes’ walk away in the local village, and there are toys and ping pong alongside the pool in the estate itself. The hosts can help arrange a babysitter (and have a Montessori-trained babysitter available). The nearby village is very family friendly and full of local families; there are plenty of lovely villages to visit nearby plus a chocolate factory, an aqua park, horseback riding, donkey riding and more.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Bathrooms have shower only options. Safety notes: the infinity saltwater pool is not gated or heated, so young children should be supervised. This apartment can be rented for larger parties with the Ornellaia, Sassicaia and/or Desiderio apartments within The Fontegirasole Villa or with any others on the estate. Guests can add various extras to their stay, including a private chef, cooking school, airport transfers, wine tours and food tours. The hosts can help arrange a rental car on request - car hire is essential. A library of English language books is provided in each villa, including a selection of art books, guides, maps, brochures and tourist information. Spa amenities including massage, manicure, pedicure and facials are on offer at the estate or in your villa; horseback riding, golf and a sailing school can be arranged on request.

The estate is walking distance to the village of Paciano where there are 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a pharmacy, a doctor, a museum, a, family tourist association open in Summer, and a little shop. Paciano is in the province of Perugia, on the Umbria/Tuscany border approximately 50 minutes west of Perugia city, and 12km south of Lago Trasimeno. It is well placed for exploring the delights of Tuscany and Umbria, with Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Orvieto, Assisi, Deruta and Montepulciano all under an hour away. Car rental essential.• Guided tours of the best of Umbria and Tuscany can be arranged by the host. The closest international airport is in Perugia, just under an hour away, with Rome’s airports approximately 2 hours’ drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment is on the ground floor of a newly restored farmhouse. It includes 2 bedrooms (1 with kingsize bed, 1 with 2 twin beds), 2 shower-only bathrooms, a dining room with fireplace and a travel crib can be provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen; the living room includes a TV. Outside space includes a private porch/garden with outdoor sofas and 250 lavender plants. From the garden you access the saltwater infinity swimming pool and the parking area. There is full air conditioning and WiFi throughout.

Style Notes

Classic Tuscany. With terracotta-tiled floors, wood beamed ceilings and a lovely blend of natural colors in its rooms, this ground floor apartment is great for a family stay. The main estate was built in 1893 and contains a beautifully restored 2-story stone farmhouse with 2 separate luxury villas. Set on 40 acres with 3,000 olive trees and a small vineyard of old Sangiovese and Grechetto grapes, there are classic views of rolling green hills, and plenty of relaxing countryside pursuits to enjoy nearby. The space is fully decorated and inspired by the owners’ love of wine, and includes original furniture from Morocco.
