Kids can take over the top floor (but there’s also a guest room here if parents need to sleep nearby) and parents can have their own space on the second floor - there’s even a separate den/office for adults to relax after bedtime. Head out to the upstairs patio for a quiet morning coffee (or an evening glass of wine) or use the family-friendly open plan space on the ground floor, with views of the garden and even more toys to keep little ones entertained.

Why Kids Love it

This house is well stocked with toys and games and different areas to play, from the main living room and the dedicated kids’ bedroom to the Hobbit house in the backyard. Parents with babies and toddlers will be pleased to find a changing table, 2 Stokke high chairs, baby bath, and bed rail, so you won’t need to bring all the essentials with you. Nearby Prospect Park is well known for its child-friendly activities and playgrounds, and it’s just a short walk to JJ Byrne playground and skate park too (7 minutes’ walk). Other popular family-friendly spots in Brooklyn include: Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Jane’s Carousel at Dumbo, and the water-front parks under the Brooklyn Bridge (all less than 20 minutes’ drive).

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. Safety notes: the house has stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, and outlet covers are present on all the outlets. The hosts can provide babysitter or children’s activity recommendations for Brooklyn on request. Bi-weekly housekeeping is included in the monthly price. The property comes with air conditioning, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV, and WiFi. Car rental is not essential due to the central location and reliable public transport.

Style Notes

Relaxed modernist. This open plan townhouse has been gut renovated to give it a modern feel, and is decked out with family-friendly furnishings. Bright, modern, and fun, this house is full of pops of color and modern touches, finished with soft furnishings and patterned fabrics to create a relaxed and comfortable feel. We love the mid-century style chairs in the backyard, the unique light bulb fixture in the dining area, and the warm walnut wood furniture adding a subtle retro touch.

Lovely, helpful hosts - patient with all our questions. The house was immaculate, organized, and beautifully appointed. My girls loved the high quality toys and my parents loved the spacious chef's kitchen with its views of backyard greenery.
