About the Location

The villa is located near Stoupa village on the Mani Peninsula in the southern Peleponnese. It stands in the middle of an olive grove and offers ultimate privacy for guests. The area is rich in authentic 12th century Byzantine churches and small mountain villages. A picturesque Kardamili village is within a short drive and is famous for its castle. Local beaches with crystal clear waters are within a 15-minute drive away: the most famous is Kalogria beach in Stoupa village with cold water springs. Ritsa beach in Kardamili has nice clear water and white pebbles, and less busy options include Foneas and Kalamitsi, both easy to access. Kalamata International Airport is about 1 hour, 15 minutes' drive; Athens is just under 4 hours' drive away.

Style Notes

Modern luxury. This open and warm living space carefully brings together contemporary art and furniture with comfortable ambience for a free-spirited feel. Local materials such as stone, wood and marble give the classic touch of an authentic Greek villa, with the space designed to live both indoors and outdoors, surrounded by views of the mountains, countryside and sea. We love the dining chairs, relaxed play space and unique wooden ceiling details.

Being both, hosts for our guests and parents of three little children, we understand the needs of travelling families. We live in a big city and we love to get away for a weekend, somewhere close to sea, into the nature. Whenever we are at The Architect's Residence, our children love to play 'hide and seek' or paint in the playroom, which is their own space. The grown ups enjoy the terrace outdoors in the summer time and in winter the fireplace indoors. We are excited to join Kid & Coe, it fits our profile so much.

Peleponnese, Greece Mainland

Myths, legends and perfect beaches

From ancient ruins to postcard-perfect beaches, the Peleponnese peninsula in southern Greece is at the heart of the nation's myths and legends, the place where Odysseus' son started his search for his father, where classical civilization draws its rich history. You don't have to range around ruins and ancient sites - the beaches and mountains are dazzling on their own - but it would be a shame to miss the ruins at Mystra, Olympia, Mycenae or Corinth. Dine on fresh local fish, take boat trips and swim in crystal clear water.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a very peaceful location and the view is quite amazing with a lovely sunset. You do need a car here but all you need is pretty close by. Lucia is very attentive and cares for you throughout the stay. She has a team of people in the area to assist you with anything you need and clean the house on a daily basis. It's pretty much like being on a hotel but with the comfort and privacy of a private house. During our stay we celebrated my husband's birthday and on that day, we arrived from the beach to a beautiful bouquet of roses. Nice touch... The only thing I would point out is that the house has lots of stairs so if you're travelling with a young toddler you might need to take this into account.
