This compact stone cottage is the former wine cellar on an Umbrian estate with a pool, lovingly restored and turned into a retreat that sleeps up to 4. It makes a wonderful place to stay for a young family, with a double bed and double sofa bed, plus a travel crib on request. Decorated in natural colors using original stonework and stunning wood-beamed ceilings, it’s charming and characterful. The views from the striped deckchairs on the private terrace overlook fields, a valley and forests. Along with enjoying the estate’s swimming pool, 2.5-acre gardens, playgrounds, pizza oven and olive grove, be sure to visit the small herd of alpacas at the estate, and day trip to the nearby water parks and chocolate factory.

We had a lovely time in the Cantina Residence - the house had everything we needed with a beautiful view. The playground and swimming pool are fantastic for relaxing in at the end of the day or when it's too hot for sightseeing, and for meeting other families staying on the estate. Highly recommend the pizza night. Great hosts.

I stayed 5 days in La Cantina with my 2 daughters of 7 and 9 years old and we had a fantastic and unforgettable time. The cottage is so charming and the view is beautiful. Chrissie and David are very nice and helpful people and they make you feel at home. Hiking in the mountains around the cottage is fantastic as well as visiting famous cities as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio which are only half an hour by car. The two dogs and alpacas are very nice to cuddle with. The pool is very big. In other words, this is a fantastic place to go with children but also without.

My husband, our 3 year old, 10 month old and I had an amazing time at the Cantina Residence. From the minute we arrived Chrissie and David were very welcoming, had catered the cottage with food and drinks as per our request, showed us around the property and shared their knowledge on the local area. The natural beauty of the property is breathtaking. There is a beautiful outdoors area with toys , swings and a slide our boys also enjoyed. Interestingly, our 3 year old called the cottage "home" and wanted to go back a few days later to play with Bessie( very friendly dog). We fell in love with Umbria and when we go back we would love to stay at the cottage again.
