Set up with family life in mind, this roomy residence has plenty of space for everybody to enjoy some of their own with cozy living areas, playrooms full of toys, a sociable kitchen/diner and a huge, fully fenced garden for the kids to safely run off their energy. With bedrooms all on one floor, parents can keep an ear out for younger ones, while the basement office’s daybed can easily convert to a fourth queensize bedroom, ideal for an accompanying nanny or those seeking some additional peace. The house is set on a quiet residential street in one of the most desirable locations with SE Hawthorne boulevard and Division Street offering up some of the city's best boutiques, vintage stores, restaurants and breweries.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love having the run of this spacious, leafy home, designed with playfulness and fun in mind. With creatively decorated, roomy bedrooms and plenty of lounging space, there are lots of places to enjoy some downtime. The basement has its own den come family room for kids to play or curl up and screen a movie in. The huge back yard has sprawling lawns ideal for ball games, picnics or hide and seek games. For kids with yet more energy, the local city park is just minutes away with a fun-filled play ground for all ages. Laurelhurst and Mt Tabor, 2 of the city’s most iconic parks are also an easy walk or bike ride from the residence, providing further playground options alongside skate parks, lakes, basketball and tennis courts. The hosts can provide a crib, pack n’ play, baby monitor, highchair and a baby bath on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. The house is three stories tall with no elevator and a center staircase; baby gates are available by request. Please note that there is a hot tub in the garden which younger ones should be monitored around. There is an office space in the basement, set up for those working from home with good WiFi throughout the property. There is a laundry room with a washer/dryer for added convenience. There is ample street parking directly in front of the house with room for 2+ cars. The hosts can provide an additional travel crib on request. The basement office can be converted to an additional bedroom with a queensize sofa bed if required; please let the hosts know at the time of booking. The residence is pet-friendly.

About the Location

Located in inner SE Portland between Hawthorne Boulevard and Division Street, this leafy residence is walkable from most of the city’s main attractions. The local park is just minutes’ walk away with playing fields and a playground while iconic Laurelhurst is a 20-minute walk and Mt Tabor an 8-minute drive, both offering plenty of entertainment for active little ones. The local neighborhood is one of Portland’s hippest with foodie favourite Division Street offering up more than its fair share of restaurants, roasters, wineries, breweries, and independent stores. The residence is close to multiple bus routes, though it's just as easy to explore by bike or on foot. The closest international airport is Portland International, around a 20-minute drive.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms set over 3 floors. The house’s main entrance opens onto the ground floor which contains the house’s main living areas. There’s a stylish, fully equipped kitchen with all the modern conveniences including a 5 burner stove, coffee maker, dishwasher, large pantry and a breakfast bar seating 2. The neighboring light-filled dining room has a table seating 5 while the formal living room has colorful velvet sofas cozily clustered around a fireplace. French doors open out from here into the back yard which has a deck area with alfresco dining table, wrap around lawns and a hot tub. The basement of the residence has been cleverly converted to provide an additional spacious floor housing a family room with a TV and play space; a home gym with a bike, treadmill, weights and floor mats; a laundry room; and a family office with a desk and a day bed which converts to a fourth bedroom when needed. The residence’s main bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs on the first floor. The primary comes with a kingsize bed, closet and ensuite bathroom. The pretty second bedroom has a queensize bed and the third bedroom comes with a crib. There is a separate family bathroom with a bathtub.

Playfulness and color are woven in to every space, with fun statement wall art, bright velvet clad furnishings and textiles, and beautifully painted cabinetry. A clever use of space ensures there are plenty of cozy spots to curl up with a book or a movie, alongside play spaces for active little ones. Windows and French doors flood in plenty of natural light alongside tree top views providing leafy retreat vibes in the heart of the city. We love the large back yard with its outdoor spa, prettily planted borders and rolling lawns, perfect for summer picnics or a enjoying a peaceful morning coffee before hitting the city.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
