This newly-remodeled Craftsman home is spacious and stylish, just 15 minutes from the city in Portland, Oregon. It sleeps 8 + 1. This place is perfectly set up for a family stay, with dedicated kids rooms, a luxurious parents’ bedroom and an additional guest room on the ground floor which is ideal for nannies or multi-generational family trips. The large upstairs bathroom has a deep soaking tub - great for bathtime or a relaxing spa experience for the grown-ups. When you’re ready to explore the city, Portland has an amazing choice of cultural attractions, historical sights, food markets, parks and gardens.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts have plenty of toys, games and books for kids aged 4 and up, plus spacious areas to play upstairs. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to Alberta park where there is a playground and sports courts, and the surrounding streets are bike friendly. There are some fantastic family-friendly attractions in Portland: visit Oregon Zoo and the amazing OMSI Planetarium and science museum (both 15 minutes’ drive), or Oaks Amusement Park, where you’ll find a traditional skating rink, mini golf and picnic areas (20 minutes’ drive).

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Safety notes: there are some steps up to the main porch (which is open) so young children should be supervised in this area. Parking is available for XX cars - car rental is recommended although there are buses from NE Alberta St which can take you to the MAX Blue tram line (for access to the city). Pets are welcome on request. The house comes with air conditioning, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV and WiFi. For parents with babies and toddlers, the hosts can provide a high chair, children’s utensils and a pack-and-play on request.

About the Location

The house is located 20 minutes outside Portland, Oregon in a great family-friendly neighborhood. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk from NE Alberta Street, where you’ll find a good choice of restaurants, breweries, independent stores and the amazing Salt & Straw Ice Cream parlor. There’s also a huge choice of great eateries on NE Killingsworth St (less than 10 minutes away). Downtown Portland is just 15 minutes’ drive, and there are beautiful trails, monuments and parks to explore along the Williamette River - a perfect family day out. Portland international airport is around 20 minutes’ drive.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The ground floor boasts a chef’s kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dedicated dining room, plus a cozy living room and an office - ideal for work-from-home families. This floor also has an additional guest room with a queensize bed. Upstairs, the primary bedroom has a kingsize bed and there are 2 child-friendly bedrooms: 1 has a set of bunk beds (with a single over double) and the second has a queensize bed. The hosts also have 1 travel crib for babies or toddlers. The backyard is fenced in, and features a BBQ and outdoor heater, while the large front porch has a swing seat.

Style Notes

Contemporary Craftsman. The house is bright and light, with large windows and a multi-aspect living area to create a real sense of space, plus plenty of cozy spots to curl up with a book or watch a movie. Freshly renovated with a modern family in mind, it features white marbled quartz countertops in the kitchen with a large breakfast bar - a great gathering place for your family to cook and spend time together. The hosts also have lots of art throughout the house, giving it a unique and artistic feel. We love the stylish mix of tiles in the bathrooms, the cabin-style wood paneling in the office and the contemporary stainless steel fittings in the modern kitchen.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
